I think anything involving an SR20 shouldn't even be considered close to being "outside the box".

not the first time an SR has been posted in an E30.

What a waste of a good engine

i really with you were a bit more informed. an E30 is nothing to just write off.

ug. But why? Its still an Altima with a crappy R33 ripoff bumper. There are so many cars so much more worthy of that much work. Such as; Miatas, FCs, first gen Toyota Celicas, Datsun cars....

I just don't like Altimas. Or BMWs.

If you want to see some crazy engine swaps, go on some australin car fourms. They are the ones that do crazy ass swaps.

And that altama...still riced out.

Aussies are nuts. They do the coolest swaps! First gen Celicas with V8s and stuff. My favs ever is a guy with a 1973 ish Toyota Corona MX22 and he dumped a ITB'd n/a 2JZ in. Then there is another guy with a 7M-GTE powered Crown wagon. Super rad.

They thought outside the box before you knew you were in one.

While I was playing around with electric power and still being weaned from gasoline, I picked up a ‘72 white 1200 sedan in 1985, and built up its 1200cc motor to a 10k rpm street machine.
The engine had 11.5 compression, flat top J pistons, a GX oval port head with bigger valves and cc’ing, and Nissan Comp headers, cam, intake, and distributor, with dual Weber 45 mm carbs.
As I got more into pollution free driving, and as I got hooked on zero rpm full torque, the white car was torn apart, it’s ICE related stuff sold and traded away, and I turned it into
‘White Zombie’.
Today, White Zombie is the world’s quickest ‘street legal’ electric car, and last year with a single 11 inch DC motor, direct drive (no transmission needed) and street radials, turned 13.18
@ 99.19 mph....this with a 3 year old aging battery pack! I’ve changed things again, and the car now sports twin electric motors, a pair of 8 inch that churn out 320 hp @ 540 ft. lbs, of
torque. With fresh batteries, this combination should be good for an easy 12.6-12.7 ET at around 110 mph.
We started NEDRA (the National Electric Drag Racing Association) in ‘96, and since then, each year our EVs have gotten quicker and faster. Last year, ‘Current Eliminator III’, an electric
rail dragster, beat an alcohol injected V8 fuel dragster by turning an 8.801 ET! ‘KillaCycle’, the world’s quickest electric bike, runs 9.45 @ 152 mph. ‘Maniac Mazda’, a rave-only, tubbed
out, fiberglassed twin motor RX7, has run 11.2 @ 108 mph

Beat that engine swap. This guy thought outside the box, and outside the ups tuck!
