I finally got a write about the car from the owner.I am selling it for a friend.


Here is all the info about the car.

Y/M/M – ’91 240SX (base model I’m assuming)

Color – Originally some sort of gray but was re painted a blue/purple (no clear coat)

Motor – SR20DET red top

Intake – None

Exhaust – Apex’I N1 (no cat, just a test pipe)

Engine Mods – Blitz FMIC, Blitz BOV, Turbo XS dual stage BC, stage 2 clutch

Suspension Mods – Tokico “Blues” struts, Eibach 2” lowering springs

Wheels/Tires – Off brand “Excel” 7 spoke 17” Wheels; no idea what the tires are

Exterior – Authentic BOMEX body kit. The lip of the front bumper was broken and glued back together but broke off soon after. The paint could use some touch up. The panel below the taillights was removed but I picked up another one.

Interior – Knock off NISMO steering wheel. NISMO leather shift knob, no seat belts in the back seats, Blitz boost gauge, JVC head unit.

Misc Mods – Blitz Auto Timer, 180SX LSD

THE ONLY MODIFICATIONS DONE BY ME WERE THE FOLLOWING: Steering wheel, shift knob, replacing seats, installing front lap seat belts, installing front parking lights, installing new headlights, replaced wheels. That’s about all I can think of.

PROBLEMS: I bought the car from a guy in NY. He did the swap himself. There seems to be a boost problem. I can't give it full throttle at low rpm. If I do give too much throttle the car slightly backfires. It's not a loud gunshot sound, it's relatively quite in comparison but the car sort of sputters until the rpm raise. It's weird and I don't have the patience to figure it out. The CV joints need replacing. There's no camber kit so the alignment is off. I'm way too lazy to fix this crap.

Thanks Redsuns... let me try to shed a little light on this car. I am the owners roomate and the one who has helped him diagnose some of his issues. The problems you read are correct, it has an issue when the car starts to boost, full throttle can't be done a lower RPM's, once it clears that it can pull the 7psi fairly well. A good buddy of mine worked on the car up in Northern VA and they put in an EVO fuel pump, and managed to trace the problem back to some Faulty MAF wiring. They said it wouldn't be difficult to fix. The problem is, my roomate just wants a car that will get him from point A to point B. He loves these cars, he just doesn't want to have to do any work to them or never have them require anything but regular maintenance. The motor runs stout, it just has the fuel issue, which seems to be that it is dumping too much and running rich, hence is why it take the car getting to higher RPM's before it picks up. He doesn't even want to take the time to hook up a fuel pressure gauge or an FPR and test it... he just drives it as is since it runs great, and just wants to get rid of it.

It does have a full Apexi N1 Exhaust. Sounds great in my opinion too. The intercooler is an authenic full Blitz intercooler, not a Greddy with Blitz painted on it. it has a test pipe so it is turbo back, no cats. As far as suspension, Tockico blues w/ eibach prokit, and new tie rods up front. Handles good. the interior is pretty much stock, but in good condition. The boost gauge is a 60mm Blitz LM and is located on the passangers side because the previous owner from Wicked Workz in NY was going to do a RHD conversion. Blitz TT mounted above the stereo, has the knock off nismo steering wheel and knob. The boost controller is a dual stage, it originally didnt have a boost controller, but I gave him my old one and it is currently pretty much turned all the way off so that it runs stock boost. The car has never seen more then stock boost since the swap.

The MR2 is mine, and definately not included in the sale!!! The man who worked on this S13 also worked on my MR2 and its soon to be a monster. Great guy and very skilled. He can introduce himself if he reads this.

Also please note... THIS CAR WILL COME WITH A SET OF AXIS 19" RIMS AS WELL THAT ORIGINALLY CAME WITH THE CAR. They were taken off because he had a blowout in one tire, so I gave him the set of rims I had laying around the house. the other 3 tires are in good shape. price is firm with the 19's. I will post pics of the 19's tomorrow.

He has no interest in parting it out, nor is he technically incline to even begin to take it apart. 4500 will take the car as it sits. Right now he is in NC, but he will travel to meet someone who is serious about the car.

take pics of compression test on each cylinder, not a close up of a gauge, but of the gauge actually in each cylinder,

have you even checked the ecu for codes? takes 2 seconds

Compression check is in the works... redsuns is the guy who worked on the car and has said the MAF wiring is the issue. Regardless of how easy the wiring is to deal with, marcus, the owner is basically car illeterate... to the point that he does not know how to change his own oil. I have to do it for him. The main thing keeping me from taking a look at it and getting involved with it at all... is that I live in VA and he lives in NC. on top of that... he does not want me messing with it in the event something happens and I break the car or cause it not to run all together, since I am not a mechanic, I can do a bulk majority of things, I just never really get into wiring of any kind.

And please dont go spouting your mouth about a fishy deal... everyone who has contacted me or spoke with marcus directly has gotten every minor detail and about 923847 questions answered to the best of both our abilities. And no originally marcus didnt want to go lower then 5k, but if you browse around just a little, you can get a mostly stock S13 with a strong running swap for under 4k. Being that he does not want to deal with it anymore, he is getting rid of it and cutting his losses... the only reason he is accepting 3.5k is because we both know we can find him a mostly stock, strong, reliable DD and thats all he wants. the car runs strong and will drive anywhere, just bogs out under hard boost... he is getting a compression test as soon as he gets back to NC... no he will not be able to take pictures of each cylinder because he has to work during the day... he can't stand by the mechanic while he does the test.

I have tried to tell him to fix the car and keep it but he does not want to do that... so if it is such an easy fix then whoever buys the car will get a good deal... a little TLC and it will be all set. If I wasn't trying ot buy a house for my family... maybe I would take it off his hands, but I already have 2 projects and a bike... and can't support a 3rd. Thanks for the technical insight, but if you are not interested in the car or do not have something postive to say, please keep the "seems fishy" comments to yourself. Thank you.

P.S. I saw your post about the rewiring service and I even suggested he talk to you, but his wife also does not like the car and anyone who has a controlling wife knows... they have a major influence.
