I got one with my motorset.

Didn't even know it untill I popped the tranny off for a blow motor.

It drives like a lightly warped full face. can drag it a little but there is a little shudder. I love it, Grandma clutch 9000.

Take it to a drift event and clutch kick all day and it only grabs harder.

ACT is like 20$ cheaper, and drives like anus. no reason not to but Stage 2 Exedy.

I absoulutely love my Exedy Stage 2. I would recommend it to anyone doing a swap and looking for a streetable semi hardcore clutch. It is the smoothest sprung 3 puck clutch ever. I have had it in my ride for aobut three yrs now with out any problems, my friend also had one in his turbo b series civic and it also drove like a champ. If something ever happens to this clutch the next one I would go with if I decided not to replace it with another stage 2 is the hypersingle.

I have one, and I love it, but I am still on stock flywheel, and after driving my friends evo with a quartermaster clutch and flywheel, I fell in love, so we are having them make a kit for the SR, hopefully should be done soon...

Its great exactly what everyone else said. Decent for daily as well. Tried a ACT 6 puck extreme and thats insane and a little too harsh for daily. I love my Exedy Stage 2. Go for it.

Crazy clutch...

Dorifto89 has this clutch on his SR and can do 2nd gear burnouts and low rpm clutch kicks with absoltely no effort.
He also rubs the living shit out of the clutch (starts from a stop around 3000rpm) and has been doing so for the past 2 years. Clutch still grabs like new.

Nothing but praise here as well, my stage 2 is coupled with the ACT streetlite and I love the setup. Its incredibly easy to daily on and is there whenever you want to beat the shit out of it....buy this clutch:eek3d:

Assuming the Exedy st.2 is the 'hyper single', and you're comparing it to the ACT 6-puck, i think you're a little off with the pricing. Isn't the Exedy something like an $800 part, while the ACT 6 puck is a $320 part? Even getting a flywheel wouldn't cost more than $200, so the Exedy is still very much at premium cost wise.

The ACT 6-puck is horrible, i agree. I have one with a Toda flywheel, and I can't ever seem to get used to it. I also know a couple of ppl who have the ACT 6-puck and don't quite care for it. the engagement is just too harsh imo The torque capacity on the ACT is very good though, even stronger than the Exedy hypersingle, iirc.

Regardless, I can't say im not tempted by the Exedy, maybe even a twin disc clutch for more torque capacity. I get the impression from reading that the Exedy is a lot easier to use than most high torque capacity clutches. I guess you get what you pay for.

ok, i did a bit more research. The Exedy stage 2 is NOT the same as the Exedy Hyper-single, and the price is a bit different as well. Also, the Exedy st.2 doesn't come with a lightweight flywheel, while the hypersingle does.

Exedy Hyper-single

The ACT 6-puck also indeed has a higher toque capacity. It can hold around 450 lbs of torque, while the Exedy st.2 is limited to around 350 lbs. Both clutches are priced around pretty much the same.

ACT 6-puck
http://phase2motorsports.stores.yahoo.net/act6pucclutk1.html

The hyper-single prob has a torque capacity of around 500 lbs, but you're paying close to $900 for that! If you're looking for a durable clutch with high torque capacity and a modest pricetag, the ACT 6-puck is a pretty good deal. It's just a PITA to drive around with. I think it would also suck to use at HPDE's as well, as it's difficult to shift & engage smooth with it. Too bad exedy doesn't have something between the st.2 and the hyper-single.

How is pedal feel with the exedy stage 2? Is it super hard or still soft like stock? And do they make it for KA?

i used one for about 6 months and it wore out unevenly cuz my pilot bearing was loose or whatever, and i downgraded to a stage 1 cuz of money issues, but the stage 2 is an awesome clutch i will get it again

nobody was talking about the hyper single. If the torque capacity of the stage 2 Exedy is not enough get a stronger pressure plate. The disc is very grabby, not very good if you are a baby about that sort a thing. I would drive one daily and not worry about it but I know people who would not. They are damn tough though.

Yes, someone was talking about the hypersingle. read the last sentence of the post. the grammar is a bit off, but i get the impression the poster says the exedy "stage 2 is the hypersingle". b/c i don't keep up with the diff stage of clutches exedy offers, i was a bit confused myself when i first saw this.

When I first put mine on after running a burnt up nismo cluth that came with the tranny, I thought it might be too grabby or to much for a daily driver. After a few days I got used to it and wouldn't have it any other way.

I got mine with my motorset, i love it, firm but easy to get used to pedal, grabs smoothly if you manipulate it right, holds nice, very predictable imo.
