I was on another web forum browsing around and saw a "legalized" r32 and figured i'd share with the zilvia community...was wondering what is all the paper work need for the car to really be registered legally and to be driven on the street.

take a look..seems like a good deal, but then again i dont even now how much legalized r32 run for.

If it's truly legal, it's a good deal. I think that's the guy from Zilvia. He assured everyone that he would not share any info on how he legalized it. It might have just slipped through the cracks...

LOL! The comments. "Why are his wheels wider than his tires?" "Yeah, that looks terrible."

Read on whats going down with Motorex. It is legal for him to own, but I don't think he can legally sell it anymore.

dang, sorry to hear the engine lost compression in a cylinder. at the last event down at camden yards that car sounded freakin SWEET, was running well too. as for legality...i don't think it's 100% legal...just taking adv. of the fact that SC has some lax vehicle regs.

Is it 100% legal? Nope.

Could a person buy it and get it tagged and insured? Sure, just be ready to sweet talk a lot of people and jump through a lot of hoops.

there are plenty of legal skylines rolling around the country especially cali. its just a matter of exploiting the loopholes in the system.

well u could legally register it in 2008 maybe, thats only if they make the new skyline under the skyline name and dont drop it for something else. But im sure there are plenty of loopholes to get through before it'd be "legal"

"Nismo LMGT4 Wheels (super rare, 400 sets in the world)"

where did he get that info?

"too bad its a 2.5l that needs a rebuild.... should put a RB26 in it then sell it."

and to think this guy owns a 240, im pretty sure the r32 gts had the rb20
i guess his sig explains a lot

"1995 Nissan Silvia SR20DET, built top end, GT3071R turbo, hypersingle clutch, 1pc. alum. driveshaft, APpex Exv coilovers... pretty much a race car ....... Not yet though. "

eh maybe that's why he's on a bimmer forum

I believe only 95-96 R33's can be actually federally legalized.

All other claims are backdoor ways that could lead to impoundment.

There really are no loopholes in the system there are just ways of cheating. In the end its still cheating and technically not legal.
Like optionzero posted at this time the only Skylines can be legalized are the R33's. On top of that the D.O.T. is even considering rescinding that as well.
If you own a car that was plated and registered by Motorex like some people I know do, chances of getting stopped and nailed for it technically not being legal are not high. Though it still is not legal.
Most of the People I know that do have registered R32 GTRs do not drive them all the time so their chances of running into problems is slim.

Basically, when Motorex originally applied for DOT legality, the agency only asked for R33's because they were substantially similar to the R32 and R34; the R33 would suffice for crash and emissions and what not testing.

Then, Hiro for some reason starting falsifying records and otherwise fucking with the DOT. Maybe it was harder or more expensive than he anticipated, whatever, he screwed up and the DOT caught him. When they found out he was shady, they rescinded the original parameters of only testing the R32 and R34, leaving only R33 testing admissable.

Officially, the R33's already legalized are good to go. The R33 test data and permission crap belonged to Motorex, so they technically had the right to keep legalizing those years of R33's, but then the company dissolved.

If you WANT to legalize R32's and R34's you can! Just buy a few R32s and R34s, crash them, show the DOT the data, and go through the process correctly.

Check out www.freshalloy.com's GTR forum. There is a government representative answering questions; he posted there in response to questions about the investigation of stolen (some legalized) GTR's from the Motorex garage.

Just because you think you've tricked some smalltown DMV, or even state government, you're clear. The feds ARE on internet forums, and they DO have an eye out for R-chassis' because of Hiro's actions.

If you have a "grey market" one, I'd be very, very careful driving it around, and I certainly wouldn't advertise it online. They WILL seize your car if they catch you.

the stretch on his tires is to much. It does look kinda ugly in my opinion.

wait a tick, so If I buy a R33 and bring it back to the US (so long as the state isn't california) its legal?

No, you needed to get it federalized by motorex which is out of business. So no new legalized skylines until someone picks up where Motorex left off. Kinda off topic, but does anyone know whatever happened to Hiro after he got thrown in jail? LOL

The car is legal. The owner is at least a member on the site but doesn't frequent here anymore.

To whomever is seriously interested and follows through with getting the car, he will explain exactly how it is done.

Figured out last night it's not the piston that's shot in cylinder 5, it's an exhaust valve. The valve has been completely disintegrated. He's also looking for trades only, not cash, I don't know why 'Charisma' posted he wanted cash.

The person who's e-mail is posted a friend of the guy, who is spending the day with his girlfriend so he won't check e-mail until tomorrow. I know I've given him a few offers that people told me to give to him for his r32 that he is looking into now.
