Hey Joe,

thanks for posting up the pics. :) Hope the kit does the job. You are customer #1 on that kit. I sent Denny a kit today as well. These lines will get the job done if you don't care about shiny bling factor. :)

Sorry should've explained myself more.....
http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=115926&highlight=stainless+steel+turbo+lines

regarding the new lines I am going to sell. They will be approximately $85.00 and be made with inferior hose and hose ends. As of now the fittings will still be the same, but in the future I might need to change out those expensive aluminum Earls fittings with cheaper brass ones.
The new lines will come out with the name Taka express lines or something like that to designate a difference between the stainless steel lines.-Harp

so, you are selling like 4 brass fittings and a few feet of rubber hose for 85 dollars?

no, but maybe you could sell them cheaper than like summitracing price since you are a dealer for these parts (i would hope?)

thats 81 dollars for full braided hose with no brass hose ends and no push lock

i forget if the oil inlets are 10 or 12mm, so you could check on that and then get whatever size to 6an male couplers x2, probably an extra 10 bucks

so 91 dollars with a free summit hat and a 15 dollar coupon towards your next purchase.

how much are the taka braided lines? like 150 dollars? uhh yeah.

PS if you want to do it for closer to 70 bucks you can get an already made oil line from technafit or goodridge, they msrp for 25 dollars

PPS this isnt even shopping around, this is just buying everything from summit racing

^ can someone confirm the oil inlet? Then that post can be a FAQ and I would then order it.

I can't sell them cheaper. So thats a mute point. My prices on the lines have stayed the same since I started more or less.

However I do commend you on the great information you posted. This again provides people with another alternative to get something done. I was never against that. If you think my prices are too high, thats fine. I can live with that.

But I do find the urge to give everyone some more information so that they know where I am coming from and what they are buying.

When I first decided to do this (taka) I decided to use the best parts and products and customer service. Hands down, you wont get that from anywhere else. I have customers emailing me years after they bought something and I am right there for them. I don't think summit will do that for you.

Now on to the parts. We need to keep the comparison the same. Apples and Oranges not the same. Russel and Earls are not the same. (same goes for Aeroquip, Goodridge, etc) Earls is the best. hands down. Thier parts, hose ends, hoses, fittings, etc are simply the best. They are miltary spec and are widely known as being top notch quality products. So yes these parts cost more. If you compare what I sell for the stainless steel lines on summit (Apples and Apples here), it would cost you about $148 in parts WITHOUT THE FOLLOWING: no pressure test of lines, no assembly (hope you like bleeding fingers), and no restrictor fitting (if you needed it).

So if someone can get it done cheaper, by all means go for it. I am here for people that want a quality product that can't do it on thier own or don't have time to do it on thier own.

In either case to the guy that asked heres the part number for the turbo inlet fitting (straight thru flow, restriction dependent on the -3 line..which is not bad for most stock applications btw). EARL part number: 591932ERL

The rubber hose kit was designed to allow me to get something out there for people that wanted a cheaper alternative. This is my cheaper alternative. Don't like it, tough, don't buy it. next?

my point is its not a cheaper alternative? its just cheap parts? it seems like if you are a dealer for these parts you could sell the stuff for a cheaper price than joe shmoe can get it for off the internet??

so a rubber line is offered even though it sits so close to the turbo. Toss out the oil temps and such, shear engine heat and turbo heat should make quick work of that, if not using stainless line at least try for some nylon webbing guys. Just another hose alternative to Harp's setup

I was somewhat concerned about this same thing at first. When I spoke to Harp he assured me it would hold up, as a matter of fact, he's been running a setup on his sr, that uses rubber hoses, for a couple of years w/no prob.

If anybody wants to save money and assemble their own kit, they're free to experiment with it. Also as an FYI, some of the sizes listed above are incorrect. If you search for my thread, I have already listed the complete sizes you will need to assemble your own line.

Cross-linked from FA: http://forums2.freshalloy.com/showthread.php?t=113183

What Hugh said. Taka is a really nice guy, very professional and responds to emails very quickly. That alone is worth more than the $150 he charges for turbo lines. I installed my new turbo i the rain at 2AM in a friend's driveway (don't take off street parking for granted) trust me at that point those lines were worth about $500 to me becuase it saved me more time out in the rain.

People are so cheap around here you'd think think this was a DSM board...

I'm so sick of cheap ass Nissan owners with no money knocking good vendors. Get a(nother) job or go back to school. Things cost money. If you don't know Harp then you deserve everything you get.

$59 for professional assembly and tech support is worth it in my book. Maybe not in yours but it's a free country.

Seriously...160 or w/e is completely worthwhile to me for stainless oil lines...it's not even a question

with something like oil lines, why would you cheap out?

bgindn
08-28-2006, 12:14 PM
Hey guys,

These lines are really just an econo set. Any lines even stainless steel lines too close a heat source will break down. Obviously the stainless steel lines will provide more protection than these but thats also why they cost more. I intended these lines to be for the budget minded individual but thanks to this forum I realized these lines are not why I started doing this to begin with. These lines won't last as long as the stainless steel line and there is no sense in me continuing to provide a sub par product when I know there is something better that should be done. I will email Joe and Denny privately about exchanging/upgrading thier lines.

In either case this forum provided me with some insight on these lines. Short term on these lines might be ok, but the in the long run it won't be a good idea to run rubber hoses like this.

R33GTS-T

Sadly enough my website is in dire need of upgrade with pictures, costs, information, etc.

The RB25 lines should cost close to same cost as SR. RB26 lines complete should be around $240...and I dont jump at the opportunity to make them. Made a few sets of those and for the zxtt guys...not a pleasant set to make and make end customer happy with. Too much plumbing going on in those cars :)
