HICAS Rack

So i was wondering if the internals (rack and pinion gears) of a RHD hicas steering rack would fit in a LHD non Hicas steering rack, I would think it could be possible, has anyone tried this or know someone that has done this? I will be getting a rhd rack for free so i want to try it if no one has. let me know what you think.

thats what i'm thinking. while i'm at it i will probably change all the seals to make a completely refurbished unit.

okay so i get the rhd hicas rack on saturday or sunday all i need is a Lhd rack that isnt on my car so i can see if everything works out, anyone have one they want to get rid of in socal, looking for a freebie, i will do a write up on the process if it all works out. let me know about the Lhd rack anyone.
