ok so here is my situation. i have a ka powered s14.
my exhaust setup is, megan downpipe, random tech cat, and rsr exhaust.
i was told that "idealy" the second o2 sensor should be after the cat.
the harness is much too short to reach the cat itself, let alone the exhaust.
my question is, even though it wont be "ideal" will it throw codes if i have the bung welded into the dp instead?

thanks, and an immediate reply would be appreciated!

Bingo. Secondary O2 sensor is used for OBD purposes only but is required or it will throw a code. Primary is for air/fuel mixture, car runs open loop without it.

The secondary is supposed to be mounted in the downpipe, downstream from the catalytic converter. The plug comes off the lower harness, should be just hanging by the tail end of the transmission.

does that mean its ok to mount in dp?

Yes, you'll just throw a code. You know that you can unclip the O2 sensor's plug off the transmission as well as the lower harness clips and there's enough length, right?

It's tight, but it will reach. Done it a few times before.
