I have a story to tell you. i bought some D2 coilovers about a year ago for my car, 1998 s14. i got them home and started to take apart my suspension. when i got the rear out i started to install the coilovers. i reallized that the 2 rear coilovers had to different sized studs for the strut tower and thought nothing of it. well i measure the coilovers to make sure that they are both equal and find that one shock is about 4 inchs longer than the other. DAMN!!!!
i take the coilovers back to the shop and let them know. D2 sends just 1 new coilover. so i measure it out and this time the shock is the right length. so i start to take my rear suspension out. when i start puttting the shocks in i realize the springs are 2 different sizes and thickness. so i put my car back together and take the coilovers back to the shop to let them know. by this time im pissed and told the shop that they have to install the coilovers for me since i have taken my car apart twice, to find that i was given the wrong part. the shop says no problem. so a few days later i drive out to the shop to drop my car off to get the suspension installed. when i get there i ask to see the new coilover and the shop says. they just dropped it off its over there in the box. so i go to check out my new coilover, and see the first coilover they had given me. by this time im pretty pissed off and tell the shop to just give me the money back.

i would never buy another thing from D2 again. took my car apart 2 times and in the end i never even got the right parts for my car. i have been going to this shop for more than 5 years so i got my money back but the time and effort i put into that was wasted.

For every 1 good review of D2's you'll hear 10 horror stories. I say skip the D2's and get yourself some Megan Racing coilovers. You can get them in 8/6 or the 12/10 track versions. The Megans are a far superior product for basically the same money.

You say you aren't concerned about harshness but I know that the roads in Buffalo ain't that smooth and I'm warning you anything over 8/6 is going to be very harsh on busted up pavement.... I'm speaking from experience.

D2 is a relatively new company. I would give them a few years to work out production kinks and screw up's before purchasing. Many magazines give them good reviews, while actuall customers have the most complaints.

i roll 10/8 jic a2's. the roads around here are pretty rough too, but just take your time and be careful. the stiffness really isnt as noticable as you'de think!

D2's are from a Chinese manufacturer, the assembly line isn't as refined as Megan products have become over the past few years. There are alot of production kinks, and the assembly of the coilovers is a gamble.
