Can you participate in events such as auto-x, and track days if you have subs in the trunk?
I'm thinking about getting cutom fiberglass eclosures made for the subs on the sides of the hatch, and getting a false floor installed with plexiglass over the amps.. If everything is secured, can you use the car in events like those?

sykikchimp you can't have subs in the back when you are autoXing you have to take out all loose objects in your trunk, car, glove compartment etc.

i'm pretty sure if you have it properly mounted then you will be fine. I'm not totally positive tho maybe some one else can confirm this?

If you have the sub enclosures bolted down, then you can autox with them. Track days, I dunno. It would be up to the people that are hosting the track day.
For autox, wet cells must be in sealed container.

I thought they didn't have to be if you had a seperated trunk/ coupe- style 240sx, though.

I agree w/ the as long as it is bolted down, it is okay views. The basics of the rules are that they don't want sh!t flying around where it could hurt you or others in the event of a disaster (ex: you hit a pole and are beheaded by a sub-box that came flying forward).
As long as it is permanently installed, it shouldn't be a problem. Of course, a 100-200 pound weight penalty isn't going to help...

cool.. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'> this is what I needed to hear.. I more than likely will never get that serious into the racing stuff, but would still like the ability to participate and have fun with it. If I ever get more serious I will tear it all out.
mine will only be avout $2k worth.. so not quite as bad. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'>
