I have been in the import industry for quite awhile now. Had over 23 cars, and modded/tuned every single one. I have seen the good and the bad. The Hype and the Hot trash.

This upsets me, while smiling. It sends me into an emotional whirlwind....j/k.
I pulled the trigger on an ssa dual N1 for an s14. I saw an auction on ebay that I could not pass up. :loco: For less than 200.00 I got this Full Exhaust at my door.
Reasons:
1. My last s13, I got the local muffler shop to throw a cat-back 2.5" pipe with a flowmaster on it. 213.00 OTD ...looked like crap, sounded like ass. 1 month later I bought a Apex'i GT Spec 3" 400- something my cost. loud as fawk *2 tickets*
2. every thread bashes this brand. I wanted to reveiw it for my self.

here are the pics:
the "package"

TIG Welds:

More pics tomorrow. Install took place at night. 5 minutes to remove old exhaust. 20 min to install new. I am anal with the Ultra Black on the gaskets and Anti Seize on the bolts.....Fits good. One hanger was not welded properly(the one with the 12mm bolt near axle)

Enjoy, No Flamers, get a life. :wavey:

theres already a pretty in depth review in the chat section from not too long ago...all the issues and problems have been discussed before...i had the duals and IMO, not a bad exhaust for the price, but i found myself quickly moving on to bigger and better things...

I did not mean to clutter zilvia with my review. I know what has been discussed. I was just stating my findings, which is what zilvia is about. The more reviews done on a product gives a better basis for a purchase. Like I stated before I have had bigger, and better things.

So, would you like me to delete this post?

You got a pic of the mid section? I want to see what kind of design they used to bolt up to that weird dual flange.

Ok i just got this for my SR, Be prepared to dent the top left corner of the resonator in about 1" mine was rubbing the driveshaft... i just used a single-handed sledge hammer lol, other than that the exhaust sounds fuckin awesome

best deal i have ever gotten frm SSA

I did not have to modify anything. Only bad thing so far was the chassis mounted hanger was not used. (placed incorrectly on exhaust...still)

I guess they made a run of 1 million or something, they never fixed the bad hangar after a year of selling these.

i bought my friend this exhaust. it cannot be beat for looks, price, sound. the resonator actually quiets it down and makes it a more classy tone. not like a rice burner but a real sports tone. the fit isn't the best but you can't complain for $200 shipped

nope, didnt mean it like that...just putting it out there that theres already a pretty thorough review just in case if you or anyone reading this thread that wants to know more missed it...plus, i wasnt attacking your choice of getting SSAC...i merely stated that it was a nice exhaust, but i just wanted something better...main reasons being: better fitment, style, weight, and more ground clearance than the SSAC...

i have the same one. actually i got the "engine back". first thing, manifold didnt fit. would have had to grind the head to clear. exhaust hung about 1" from the ground. had to take it to shop to get hangers cut / re-welded. now i dont scarpe and it sounds ok although its very very loud at high rpms (SR)

After installing my X02 T25 manifold/SR T25/ and an aftermarket 3 inch SR downpipe on my KA-T, It pulled my Name brand Apexi N1 duals up into my driveshaft. It's nice it pulls it off the ground a bit, but the angle of the downpipe did this to mine. Also, my chassis hanger isnt used on my Apexi either

SSAC doesnt look like a bad deal, hopefully the welds are better than Apexi's; as well as the whole unit not weighing a metric ass load, like mine. Broke welds in 2 places (on the hanger between the resonator and mufflers), and into the cansiter.

I have no complaints on the N1 dual system, it looks great, sounds AWESOME, and I get alot of compliments on the style.

I have an sr and the same exhaust, and I love the deep sound. Mines not loud at all, 3" rsr downpipe, test pipe, and then the cat-back. Only complaint is it hangs like ansky said and I scrap on everything.

i have a slightly lowered car, and i scrap too... i got the apexi gt spec exhaust... here is a pic of my bottom rear... i have tein springs only... and the camera in on the floor... wow, it looks high...

anyways, my car isn't too loud... knock on wood that i don't get pulled over... anyways... i think with most cars you will scrap... my piping is huge, but yours still looks lower... lookes like you wouldn't scrap the muffler, just the resonator and cat? i scrap the cat and also the muffler...

i bought the whole "engine back" set up but i only put downpipe, exhaust, and resonator on. i had a shitload of trouble trying to get the dam exhaust in place. but in the end brute force > exhaust. im not sure why i had so much trouble getting it into place downpipe maybe?. Even though im replacing the whole exhaust sytem( greddy dp and custom catback) i think it sounded ok.

here is a clip of it on my sr20det s14

KA24de, cat-back ssa dual n1 is the only mod.

Fitment was good except for the mentioned hanger that was misplaced. Sound is awesome... can't hear it at idle, 1-3k rpm is decently loud, not deafening... 4k+ rpm it really opens up and sounds very very nice.. deep and WRX-like (also mentioned)

haha thanks. yeah i was actually considering selling my ehxuast to a friend and doing a custom setup with an Aspec muffler, but I made that video and heard it and it changed my mind. It doesn't sound like that when you're inside the car though.

also, it seemed like single tip mufflers didn't sound as deep as the dual pipe setups... single tips sound a little more ricey in my opinion

I defiantely agree. I think that's why I like yours so much. It doesn't sound like normal 4 cylinder w/ that exhaust.

Ebay, delubozparts. Polyurethane Exhaust Hangers. $26 for 4. Just stuck them in the microwave for a minute and swapped them while they were hot. Sucked the exhaust into the body cleanly. Never fit better. No more rattles against the body. They will never come off unless I cut them off they are so stiff.

wow, the duals sound different from my single ssac catback, very nice sounding though. i love the way my car sounds (obx header, cat, ssac single tip catback), i think its one of the best sounding cars ive heard. the only gripe i have, strangely, is that the muffler isnt big enough for me... in the beginning i hated big ass mufflers, but now mine looks funny small.
