I did some research beffore i go buy some areo with shity fitment, so far what i found is....

AIT=sucks
VS=far superior
ORIGIN=near excellent
OEM=the best fitment

This is just about what everyone has said from just about every post ive read, of corse there is always some one that thinks otherwise. My only problem is i havnt found any NEW INFO so i was wondering if this is still right or can anybody say else wise, thanks ahead of time.

but they fit good enough for zilvia

c-west its like spreading hot butter on crisp toast.
i had a cwest front bumper on my old S13. that thing fit like a glove, also it withstood a crash that totaled my car. i have nothing but great things to say about them. they cost alot but well worth it.

I would say:

ings +1, bn-sports, uras etc = fantastic fitment
origin = great fitment
v:s = very good fitment
b-magic = ok/poor fitment

but then again it all depends who is fitting it and how close to oem your cars frame is.

fits like oem status + it takes lots of hits, what you'll expect for a $800 msrp bumper

Nothing beats factory oem urethane. though good FRP from some companies comes in a close second. C West being one of them( seen there stuff bent in half and have it pop right back) Along with some of the Bomex stuff(the newer stuff from them is looking better in the design department) Ings,Uras,Origin,V:S, never was a big fan of Veilside design wise but I hear there stuff fits well.

Gonna have to say that the VS kit I had on my Onevia wasnt that much of a bitch to install but had to prep it a lil. Origin the same when install on S14.
I might let you know about the BN Sports. The B Magic that bad? I was thinking of getting some of that. Might just stick with the VS this time around.

When it comes to aftermarket part fitment.. it all comes down to what was stated above. you get what you pay for. Ive delt with a wide range of kits. Parts from garbage fiberglass replica kits from ebay or extreme dimensions to straight from Japan Veilside kits.

some of the kits ive had very good fitment with.
Veilside
C-west
Chargespeed
INGS
Vertex

As far as VS and Origin parts go, id say they are about middle. they are by no means OEM fit or up to the level of the above listed kits. They are unbeatable for cars that are going to be drivin hard. Aero gets friggin destroyed drifting. makes no sense to buy expensive JDM stuff. Origin and VS dont fit the greatest but get the job done for drifting.

Without any competition and close to OEM fitment, Vertex all the way and worth the money. I've had experience with vs, origin, ait, etc. and all of these, guaranteed will have fitment issues. I think partly because they are mostly knock off products.

In any case, don't buy them. Save up and purchase authentic parts.:blah:

Chargespeed is awsome...
http://www.dropshots.com/photos/149/20061013/110158.jpg
Here are Chargespeed Kouki fenders that I put on a customer's car... predrilled holes were perfectly placed. Origin fenders aren't predrilled and the mounting points for the headlights and sidemarkers suck. They were slightly warped too... The Chargespeed fenders just fell into place almost as good as OEM.

Origin can be made to fit and look awsome however...

... after it was all said and done... the Origin Stylish kit needed fiberglass work to straighten the rear bumper...

We tossed the Origin front fenders in favor of better fitting Chargespeed.

i have a combo of origin skirts and front bumper and VS rear.

VS took MUCH less prep work to get the fitment right than the Origin but still was not a big deal. Maybe it was just my kit or my dad and my perfectionism.

OK so here is what I know and have seen and played with...

URAS is gods gift to aero... fitment is effortless and if you get the Hybrid you can literally roll it up in a ball then install it with no damage or effort... crazy shit but its the best, from the best. If Ken sees a URAS kit on a Car he seriously runs up to it and kicks the hell out of it, then laughs!!

Masa Motorsports is awsome and I have had no complaints from any customers.
Garage-S is Good... the Hoods are very very nice... the Fenders were OK, not what I expected, had to do alot of work triming and re-drilling, but overall they were nice.
J-Blood is Awsome... first thing we ever got from them was a FRP hood... it was very thick and super strong, no sagging... the Aero Kits are super Nice and well thought out, pre-drilled, and perfect flexablity.
Hippo Sleek - Aero kits are equal quality as J-Blood, Do-Luck, Run-Free, C-West, DRFT, Veilside, INGS,... super nice!!
GP-Sports is actually a little easy to break not sure why but Its still very good and very high quallity... pre-drilled, etc..

I got a VIS kit in for a local guy and made plans to help him instal... Once I seen how bad that shit was I told him I wouldn't touch it and to take it to a Body Shop!!

I know I have missed other kits we have had pass through in the last 5 years.

Most people that have Origin or VIS have step-up in the game or started with that, because its easy to get. The people that have step-down for track or other reasons can easily see the difference.

VIS hoods are actually really nice... but you do have to watch out for bubbles in the carbon weave... when they laid it down dry, if not rolled out it will create air bubble design in the pattern.... seen this alot on US made Carbon Hoods.

I have a Version Select kit going on my S13. I got eveything fit, I've had several other kits on different cars, and also put a few kits on cars for friends. I've learned that no matter if you buy the cheapo ebay stuff, or a high quality top name kit that they will all require some work to fit perfect. The difference in the cheapo stuff and high end stuff is the amount of work required to get a good fitment. I also see some people complain about some kits not having the holes in them already. I prefer them to not have any holes drilled. Then you can set the parts on, figure out where they need to be, then drill the holes in the exact location to get the best fit. If they already have holes, you will more than likely have to use a die grinder and open them up to get the pieces to sit where they need to be to have proper spacing and fitment. The Version Select kit was pretty good, minimal problems with fitment, pretty much set the parts on, do a little grinding around the edges to get everything flush, then mark and drill the holes. The part that took the longest was cutting the front bumper to fit around the intercooler and pipes. Here's a few pics with it put on, not painted yet, but got everything fit. Keep in mind that there is nothing holding the sides on, but will sit flush once the bolts go in. Hope this helps some of you out (if so please give me some rep:bigok: )

ings fitment is dead on, a notch above c-west. top secret is the best fitment you'll find but they only offer a f/b for the 180. uras is suprisingly good, i've not been too impressed with anything from any of the other chinese produced products like origin or jp though.

Cwest stuff fits like crap from my experiences. To be honest all the "expensive" stuff can fit great, but it also can fit like crap, I have heard and seen good and bad about almost every major kit company.

Nobody can guarantee effortless "perfect" fitment, depends on how picky you are and the condition of your car. Most everything can be fixed though if it doesnt fit well.

mr_240sx
02-28-2007, 07:29 AM
well my c west kit fit pretty much dead on.... just a little of trimming needed for the sideskirts cause the door was rubbing a bit when closing but ive yet to see a kit that doesnt need trimming there. or trimming anywhere for that matter. the way i see it is unless your buying oem youll need to trim or make it fit.

I've run B-magic on my 3 S13s.
They are excellant in terms of balance between cost, fitment, and durability.
So far, the current S14 bumper on my car has withstood to being knocked off at the track (x4), and coming off on the freeway (x2), with only a few scrapes and scratches. This was all due to the bolts and zipties coming loose.
In terms of fitment, everything has always lined up, with the sole exception being a warped front fender, but 7/8 front fenders fitting well seem to be a good percentage. I've also hit the wall at Irwindale, and the rear fender flexed and didn't break even though the unibody got shorter by a few inches.

I'd say it's a good brand to go with if you track your car and want aero that fits well and can hold up, but won't cost you much.

As for my next car (not an S-chassis, it's a surprise) , I plan on getting aero from Arden. but with its MSRP,:bite:, it's coming off at the track. I know. I'm a pussy.

i love cheap aero

my front has come off more times than i can count, i have smacked a cone dead straight in the middle of the bumper at ~50, then did the bank at NOS while pushing it along in front of me.

it has a couple cracks

that's it

i think god has plans for this bumper, because it's clearly not its time yet.

VERTEX is the best without a doubt. All holes are predrilled in the perfect spots. In my case I got a discount from the bodyshop because of ease of install and fitment.

Oh yah and it doesn't look that bad either...

Well the body shop did mine for free since the kit was so awesome and gangsta!

Oh it was BN SPORT!

:D

AHAHAHAHA he gave me neg rep too on another thread but it might not actually be him because he spelled his SN wrong when he signed it. If it was, I could care less though.

Does anyone have experience with how the Dmax D1 front fenders fenders fit? S13 silvia front to be exact.
