The transmission in my '97 240 got screwed last weekend so now I need another one. The Nissan dealer here wants $1900 for a new one. Any of you guys know of better deal than that?

Did you want a new tranny or an old one? I would try to go to a junkyard for a low milage one, but if you want new one its gonna cost ya around the price you got.  I found some place online http://www.oem-car-parts.com
