LMAO i was thinking the same thing lol.

Yah usually people delete that whole "solenoid" thing and straight tap the hoses to thier destination.

One way to raise boost is to "shim" the actutator or something

its only a hundred bucks dude come on!! safer too since with a boost controller your stressing an acuator that isnt ment to hold most boost than its suppose to and with crappy b/c u can fuck some shit up =P hks actuator ftw

12psi HKS here, works great. don't have to worry about spikes from a boost controller either.

There is a few good things listed here, and shimming the actuator is one of them.

so by replacing just the stock actuator to a HKS actuator i can boost to 12psi safely with any other mods like intercooler, maf, injectors on a stock sr20det redtop????

sorry let me refrase that without anyother mods such as fmic, bigger maf, hi flow fuel pump or should i have all these installed before changing the acuator???

I would get a fuel pump first at the very least. It was recommended to me to put one in during my swap. I went with the inexpensive walboro 255. MAF you dont need until you get bigger injectors and bigger turbo. I am installing my fmic before upping the boost simply because it is really hot here in Georgia and I need that front mount.
