I'm pondering going with some new wheels for my 95 S14, probably 17" but I'm unsure. I have 15" right now, so 16 or 17 is a possibility, can't afford 18"... too bad. Anyways, I was hoping I could get some ideas from some people posting with their wheels and also what brand of springs they have, so I can see what looks good with what amount of drop. I don't want to slam it, but I don't want that ProKit look either (you know what I mean...)
SO
If your car has 16 or 17 inch wheels, and you lowered it, post a pic and include size of wheels, and brand of spring. Thanks!

First off you dont want 18's so dont worry about not having enough money. As for other brands of springs if you dont want that "pro kit look" you shouldnt get springs in teh first place. Some Cusco coilovers will not only make your car look nicer but will ad performance by a real nice tight, strong upgrade for your suspension. And for rims remember..
chrome = mexico
silver = okay as long as its machine lipped
white = okay but becoming ricey
gunmetal/black = ill.... doesnt get much better
gold = THE BESTEST! your a G if you get gold racing rims
As for styles, Konig Imagines are pretty sick, and 5Zigen Copse's are hella nice too (but make sure to get them in bronze cuz thats hella original looking)
Remember these are all my opinions so dont run out and attempt to start swearing DSC.

I agree. You don't want 18's. And coilovers are great if you've got the money. I've got HKS Hiper-Ds on the front and Cuscos out back and they're great. Those are 17" Volks, soon to be swapped with R33 GTR wheels wife permitting.

I have WHITE 17" Keichii Tsuchiya rims they are pretyy nice I think 17" is the size to go. I also have JIC front shocks and tein rear so it makes for a pretty hard ride on 17's. Some peoples opinion are based on someone else's opinion if you know what I mean. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>

I find 17x8 (Front) 225/45/17 tires
and 17x9 (Rear) 255/40/17 tires
Really cool.
Don't be cheap on tires!!
Get 17" because you get better handling, but if you get some cheap ass tires, you'll definitely regret it.
for a 96 car (S14) your off set should be +30 (+35)
I (had) a set of SSR Competition(Damaged by bad Boston Roads) which looks pretty cool, getting TE37s.

I always heard running different types of dampers/coilovers on front to back is bad for hndling and ride quality??

My setup is still well matched. You can buy different rated springs for any mainstream suspension like mine. 8kg/6kg seems to be great. A little bumpy at times since some of the roads here are less than desireable, but I wouldn't change a thing. I didn't intend to mix and match, though. Its just happened that the right price happened to show up in pairs, not a whole set.

Although you love to attack me as much as possible I would have said "Driven by mexicans" if I meant to be racist. Every car you see that is tricked out in mexico has chrome rims.. So yes.. I am a "nationalist" or whatever... lol who cares anyway. You are just hot and bothered about everything.

I think rims that width on a non-turboed 240 would be a bit too heavy woudn't they?
Also, I don't think you really get better handling from smaller diamater rims. Generally when you get larger rims you get thinner tires, giveing you more feedback and less sidewall flex. I think the main issue with larger rims is it takes more power to spin them because of increased rotational mass.
I can't agree more on tires DON'T BE CHEAP ON TIRES
...will make the difference between night and day...loss of traction or grip through a turn...lockup or extremely fast brakeing.
