I feel like i keep running in circles on this. I set the engine TDC everytime. I get everything on there. I go to turn the crankshaft and the chain slips everytime. I don't know if my tensoner is bad or what but it's pissing me off. And to top that off, when it slips, the crank gets stuck. But the crank not the problem because it moves fine if the cams aren't pushing down any valves. If anybody knows how I can do this please let me know.

is the chain pretty tight or is there alot of play? I was just messing with this about 30mins ago dats why. You could pull out the tentioner and give it visual inspection. Maybe its not doing its job. If thats the case i get one extra tensioner i could sell you for cheap.

it sounds like the chain is loose, you should definitely check the tensioner and make sure its still good

when you installed the tensioner did you remember to knock the hook that holds it in off before you turned the crank? they get stuck sometimes.

the hook comes off the thingy as soon as you get it bolted in there because of the pressure on the guide. I know what the problem is now. It is either #1 the chain is streched or #2 the crank gear is stripped. Either way I have to take off the front of the engine. Unless there is another way, wish I wouldn't have to go thru all that again.
