Apparently S13 Vert owners are few and far between. Typing the most broad term "Convertible" into the Zilvia search engine yielded no usefull results. The manual transmission swap itself is a piece of cake, but verts need to be in Park for the top to operate. I need someone with an S13 Vert 5-speed to chime in, and tell me how the wiring needs to be altered for the top to work.
The vert electrical system is not covered in the regular 91-94 chuki service manuals, so i really have no idea on what to do. I was going to buy the manual supplements on eBay, and i thought i'll just get them later, well, there won't be a later because those manuals are rare as hell. Now i'm kicking myself. It would be nice if i didn't have to rip up half the car to find out what goes where. My plan was to make a diagram of the park-neutral-safety-switch then cut it off, and apply power or ground depending on whatever it needs. Maybe someone could please tell me how to bypass it all, and maybe take care of the signal somewhere else so i don't have to leave a bunch spare wiring in the car. I don't even know where the electricals are located for the vert top.
If anyone owns a vert, they know what horrid hack job ASC did during the conversion, and i'm afraid the wiring will be just as bad. Any help what so ever would be greately appreciated. One of the posts mentioned that Heavy Throttle did a 5-speed conversion on a vert, but i can't find anything more than rumors.
When this is all done and working, i'll make a Vert 5-speed conversion write up supplement so there is real info once and for all.
