ive been driving my car for the past few days ever since i had my swap completed, s14 sr into s14. my car was running good with plenty of power at stock 7psi boost. i finally got around to get a timing light today and adjust my timing to 15 btdc, second mark from the right. the timing was at about 20-25* before i adjusted. when i took it for a test drive, the car started to bog like crazy but then clear but still has less power than before. i checked to see if there is any boost leaks, and dont seem to be any. ever since i adjusted timing it been driving weird and powerless. someone help me out. thanks

i have done everything as stated. the car was driving fine, a little rich though, but powerful. after i timed it with a timing light to 15 degrees than it started to act up.

im running into the same issues with my SR. I just recently had to take out the exhaust camshaft to replace that bolt for the oil pump. I put good marks and know how to time this engine. So i put it all back together and the CAS in. started up the car and it ran the exact same way it did before..perfect. so i put a timing light on it and its at about 20-25. When its set at 15 it runs like crap and is extremely slow.
What should i do? It feels the same it did before i replaced the bolt and it ran perfect for over a 1 year. Should i just not worry about it?

figured out the problem. I was using the timing loop in the back and found out it reads 10-15 degrees advanced. hooked it up to just cylinder #1 and its at 15 degrees perfect.

that was exactly the problem i had. i was using the loop in the back. after i restabbed the cas and adjusted timing using the #1 coil the car is running beautiful with full power:D
