Hey guys, dunno if you were aware but there is a new supercharger kit on the market from Knight, and from what I've read its Thomas Knight-designed and uses an Eaton m62 unit like in the Xterra.

Someone bought the kit and installed it on their kouki 240sx, the kit they used was one of the pre-production models so it doesn't have all of the bells and whistles the finished product will include, and requires some diy skill...

but I'll let you check out the install process for yourself and draw your own conclusions...

Pretty cool. I would like to knwo #'s as well. It would do this over a Ka-T for a daily driver

Estimated power output, price and when its available would be awesome, I am about 2 weeks from a sr swap so I am curious about this kit.

estimates place power output on the stock 7psi pulley between 210 and 225 hp, upgradeable with pulleys and reinforcing your bottom end, different injectors, intercooler, etc... up to 17psi? dunno yet.

the guys had problems with their bikirom board and cant do anything until its sorted out. hes shooting for a reliable 245hp and close to that in ft/lbs.

oh yeah, pretty sure he scored the pre-production kit thru ebay for ~1,200 or something like that. the finished kit should probably include everything you need to bolt it in and go more around $2,500 or so, in upgrade packages ranging into the higher price levels for the whole thing.

im not a spokesman for the company and as far as that goes all i have for you is hearsay or what ive picked up from the user and his communication w/ the company as well as what ive gleaned regarding this topic.

bottom end doesn't really need reinforcing until you're above 500 maybe.

this is cool and all, but if i was looking to stay ka... i'd go turbo. there has been so much r&d for the ka24det not to.

if the company has the funding, they could just release the kit to hook into the factory air box, and have it C.A.R.B. tested to try to get it legal.. then after that bam street legal KA action sounds pretty good

bottom end reinforcement suggestion comes from manufacturer of the kit -- for liability reasons maybe?

different strokes for different folks, turbochargers you have to compensate for lag with engineering or driving technique, supercharger has no spool-up time and is there when you need it. throttle response is more "natural," i guess you could say. i dont think this is supposed to "replace" turbochargers, just persented as an alternative.

i dont care much either way, but since my power goals are in the 250whp range for now, this may be a cheaper alternative for my project.
