what have some of you guys with aftermarket tubular exhaust manifolds done to battle the heat they put out? I know ceramic coating is a good way but i don't feel like pulling all the turbo stuff out. has anybody used a heat shield with success? a vented hood perhaps?

use some heat wrap...wrap that sucker up...should help to reduce some of the heat....u could get a turbo blanket for the turbo....those are two things that come to mind to help reduce under hood temps

i have heard the warp can trap moisture in and rust the manifold. is this only a problem on daily drivers that see all kinds of weather? this car is more if a weekend car

wrap and build a heat shield out of home depot materials

Just put wrap. You live in Houston so its dry there.. you don't have to worry too much about the rusting.
Heat shield is another good one.. and the washer hood trick.

dont heat wrap the mani
get a shield, get a vented hood (rear vented) that will fix most of the problems

wrapping ruins turbo manifolds more than it helps keep in heat...
the reason why it works is the same reason why it destroys them.
If the manifold is made of the rigth steel and welded nicely and of the rigth thickness underhood heat should nto be a significant issue.
what mani is this again?
i sugget a turbo blanket and maybe a better tune to keep the EGTs in check.

^^ seems like pretty cool stuff but kinda pricey.

Funny thing is I've never seen a tubular turbo manifold made of mild steel, only stainless so that whole thing about rust can get thrown out the window.
Vented hood + heat shield + good tune = low underhood temps.

Just make sure you put the vent a little before the back end.
Stagnant air is a high pressure region. (where the hood meets the windshield)
