Hey guys, I am jus curious to see what type of BOV's your using on ur sr20 or KA-T. But since i am going sr20 and all turbo bovs sound different. I dont like the bird chirping one but ill admit it is sweet tho but i like the woooopsshht. I believe the blitz BOV will give me that desired sound but i jus wanna make sure. also most of u know i have not gotten my 240sx yet it wont be for some time. I am jus in the preplanning mode so i know what i want when i go and buy it instead of being clueless. Thanxs

On my Silvia I have the SSQV which I am about to change to the HKS Racing BOV. On my wife's 180 She has the HKS super Blow off Valve. looks like a trumpet.

I've been changing pretty frequently, but right now I got a Greddy type-s. Still haven't found the "right" one for me.

Well you can plug the BOV hose completely and go eith the sound of the turbo. Lose a lot of response but oh well it will sound nice. hehe.

whats up with noobs these days, you the second noob with a turbo that doesn't liek to share car porn or say what they have on thier car. Now obviously from the pic in your sig I see an fmic so u have a tubro car, and i see an S13 F/B with Silvia front end but whats under the hood KA-T, SR, or less common underappreciated CA.
Do you have any more pics of yoru car and you should really get it painted as soon as possible. Also where do you live?
All of the above are from me assuming that the car in your sig is yours, but you should have a turbo car since you said you keep changing BOVs

All I can say is paint jobs are expensive where he is at. I can also say that it is his car.

I don't really care what sound they make. Just I have a problem where after I boost and have to come to a quick stop (happens a lot here - island's pretty small) it'll want to die, no matter how tight I wind the spring down.
Okay, now for some specs:
91 180sx (SR) 5-sp.
HKS GT 2530 ball bearing turbo
Greddy V-SPL IC
Full Stain 80mm exhaust from turbo to tip (unknown mfg.)
Locally tuned boost-up computer
Heavy duty clutch (unknown mfg.)
S14 5 lug conversion with R32 brakes
HKS Hiper D's front/Cusco rear coilovers
7pt rollcage
Type M seats
Kouki Tailights
G-Corporation front bumper
Parts not yet installed:
Greddy surge tank
Vertex rear bumper and side steps
25mm front flared fenders
30mm rear flared fenders
Blitz oil cooler
Parts that I want:
not enough space
It's getting painted as soon as I get back from California at the end of July. I got more pics, but not uploaded. I can email if anyones really that interested. I'll upload a bunch when it goes for paint.

HKS SSQV I like pull type BOV less prone to leaking....not like I care but if some people don't like the HKS "tweet" discharge you can change the internal fins to make a different sound.
Silviasichigo- I don't recommend the HKS Racing Type II bov. You really don't need it on a car unless you are pushing 400+ rwhp with big CFM numbers. I had that on my FD and even then it was over kill.. The HKS SSQV can handle alot. The racing spring is pretty stiff even if losened all the way. The damn thing might not even open at all unless you really floor it.

Maybe but you you be surprised the power gain you get form changing fuel curves, adding a better turbine, Changing out the intercooler, changing your cams, and a few more to come. So you see there is a reason for everything but thanks fo rhte advice. At least I know you care.

How are you bringing it back to California? Do flared fenders just kinda float around over there, about how much do they cost? Your car looks great! really thats the best looking S13 i've seen. I wouldn't paint it... it looks like a project car, and i like working on cars so i guess that might be why...

Thanks Loren. I kinda like the patchwork too. Right now it's got R32 GTR wheels on the back too, so it looks even worse (better?).
Not taking the car to Cali, just going on vacation back home. Car stays here.
I ordered the fender flares from mainland and they're pretty pricey. Average retail's about 30,000 yen. But some lesser known companies sell them for cheaper, and then there's used.

I'm with RotaryKnight. I have a SSQV, and it seems to be the best bov on the market. It is pull type, less leaks, and has a dual valve design, so it reacts faster, and has a large valve to dump massive ammounts of air.
Just my opinion.

Nah, im not going jus for the sound i jus want the best really that is all i was asking for. But i guess i put the wrong subject on there so that is my fault so i take the blame. Okisil80 very very nice car i love the silver on it. damn u got some performance on that beast eh, Nice car by the way. So it seems to me even tho the HKS SSQV sounds like a bird it is actually the best to get by far. Dont get me wrong ived heard it o na supra TT and it sounds sweet at low RPMS i jus cant even imagine what ill be like when i goes off at higher rpms. Thanxs for the info

I also have a question about the SSQV...With this BOV require any recirculation? or due to its design its not required thus stalling/running rich ect... will not be a factor...??
I think that latter is the answer from what I comprehend from the product information.

NO it will not be a factor. The HKS will do fine for your needs. My SQV works beautifully...especially compared to my old Blitz
Try not to revive old threads. Use them to gain knowledge then post your own thread tailored specifically to your question. That way I won't think that siviaichigo or some of the more knowledgable original members are back on the boards:eek:
