I know there are tons of people running SRs with Z32 MAFs, a tuned ecu, and SAFC for tweaking. For the love of god someone please tell me what SAFC in/out settings you use (yes I searched and found no definite answer)?
On my S13 SR20DET:
2in 6out runs like complete ass
2in 5out seems ok, kinda shitty
2in 2out seems ok
6in 6out seems ok
All of the settings seem to need fuel adjustments as none appear to be as smooth at +/-0% then without the SAFC. I plan on having it tuned on a wideband in a few weeks but what is the correct setting? Thank you. :x:
IN setting is same as the MAF (look up what is for Z32)
OUT is what MAF the car/ecu you have thinks it has (dunno as yours is "tunded")
make sure also in the next screen its 1 1

according to the SAFC manual it should be
2 in 6 out
i'm currently running 2-9 though because everything else was causing hesitation

I have a Mines' VX Boost up ECU, and an S-AFC I,
I have mine set at 1-7 and it runs perfectly. I started at 2-6 and it wouldn't start. 1-6 runs super lean. 1-7 idles at 13.8-14.5 and is 11.6-12.6 from 3k to redline with a small tune. I did buy an AEM gauge type wideband, just to make sure.
Tuning's an art, not a science. Do what's right for your unit.
An hour of dyno costs about 100 bux. after spending $150-250 on SAFC, just go get it done right, or say buh-bye to the motor.

well my car isnt tuned and i had it set up like the book. 2-6 and in the morning it runs like azz.. well after reading this i went and tried 1-7 and my good it idles perfect. crisp throttle responds and no hesisitation! where did you guys find the differnt in out settings. i know i need a wide band but im running stock boost and everything just didnt have any idea there were options. also with the 1-7 there is no gas smell!

was your ecu tuned for a z32?
I used to run a z32 and safc II. ordered a enthalpy ecu and ran like complete crap till i unpluged the safc (was still converting for the maf, which it no longer needed to)
never figured out the correct in-out, just got rid of the safc

well my ecu is stock i guess. i got a clip that had a boost controller and some other stuff but i tried 2-6 and now 1-6 or 1-7 works the best no idle stumble or anything. i added about 10% from 2500-4000k and steped down 2% thru the rest of the rpm range runs perfect. i wanna get it tuned. but funds are low. but my damn stock mafs keeps tripping so i installed my z32 mafs. and have had idle and cold idle issues. these setting helped.

Well it all depends what the ECU is tuned for. If the ECU is tuned for the Z maf, then the SAFC will need to have the same number for the in/out. 1/1, 2/2, 3/3, 4/4 etc. If the ECU is not tuned for the Z maf, then 2/5. If its running like crap (wont rev pass 3k or so) then your maf is crap.
