i was afraid i will be @ that point, but i realized that i don't have the money to be in the position that u r in right now... as for the car, say, try a rb25 in there? and go race for money...

Sleek240

I kind of feel the same way as you, although my 240 is not turbo, it is a 98 and very clean. I have someone that is willing to pay me 400 dollars less than I paid for it, which was over a year ago... I am still debating on taking his offer. I have been playing with this decision for about a month and half, and really need to make up my mind. It was a good thing I told him I would not make a decision for several months...but my time is running out, and I need to stop debating.
I have been saving for a while in which I was planning on getting an sr20det, but lately I have been looking at other rides?

My Question to you is, what do you not like about your ride?
I mean have you been looking at other cars that you would rather drive/enjoy? If so what are they....

Hey man goto a few races and see what you car can do and go from there trust me that if you car can boost enough you will love the rush of the 1/4 mile races against other cars. Also i talked to my friend and he is willing to get you the tranny but you have to pay for s/h 200.00 is good but he wont be back for another 2 weeks but he lso wont do a cod either.if you can get s/h set up let me know and we can go from there.

well i have another project wich is a 88 supra with a 95 2jz motor it being built by power house.. i have gone racing and done a best of 14.7 at 5psi..with a loose hose... all in all i like it but i guess i got usedto the rush and that the car is auto.. i guess tha auto tranny is depressing me

Yes I think it is your auto tranny, it gets really boring. When you get manual you will finally appreciate your car and see its full potential, but if you do end up selling your car do not and I mean DO NOT!! sell it before you go to the Chicago meet (if you are going). I still wanna see your car in person, and if you need a little fun maybe you could let me drive your car while your down here. I am kinda serious, PM me if you would let me, but hope you can make it to your meet.

Like someone else said you should try some autoX, and get the 5-Speed swap. Don't sell the car juss get another one and do a project like your supra. Also an RB25 would be a good idea. you could put one in an S13 since you already have an S14, don't dump the KA-T.

Auto > 5spd (http://www.zilvia.net/f/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=6;t=8309)

I doubt you will need to do anything else to make it fun again.

Also, SCCA.org (http://www.scca.org). I'm sure you can find something fun to do there

I would say get a 5-sp tranny in... Otherwise if you want a new car, get a WRX.

Other solutions could be:
sc300 with 2jzgte
gs300 with 2jzgte
MKIV turbo
300zxtt
VR-4
older m3 with turbo kit (I have a link here somewhere to a shop)
new m3 straight up

A few suggestions. Good luck with what you choose. I bought a WRX and am quite happy with it.

if you join any legal activities such as auto-x, drag race, or road race.. i guarantee you will never get bored

I suprised that you were not bored before this w/ an automatic. My car would suck if it was an auto. The 240sx no matter what you do to it will be a boring car in auto form. The only car that I have driven where I would accecpt and auto tranny was a SEL500 AMG that thing was fast as hell and handled beautifully even w/ the auto tranny. Anyway do the swap, start legally racing your car, and make her into a track beast. So instead of asking what your car can do to you but what you can do your car on the track

I am so suprised to hear this...even if it is an auto.

I've had my car since 10/00, and even to this day, I get goose bumps. these cars are so awesome. I can't imagine what it might be like with turbo or sr20. I can't think of a better car to have....besides maybe a skyline, supra, etc.

I'm thinking you need a 5speed. then do track or solo2.

but honestly, it sounds like your more of a show guy, since "it's not fun anymore" and it's all done...it sounds like you're more into the building of a car, then the using of a car...if that's the case....I say start doing some custom stuff, all chrome in the engine bay, crome diff etc. then do a custom interior...and start doing some shows.

No offense, but why exactly did you turbo an automatic in the first place? Maybe i'm just narrow minded, but i didnt even think that was possible.

"I need NOS....better make it two." That sounds like fun....hehe. Try that! Dont get rid of it...you'll regret it when you see those dang honda ricers...you'll wish you could shut them up! Nissans for life!!!

ditto , building a car is not only boring its annoying . Now driving the car that is where the fun starts. Oh yeah and get rid of that damn automatic or where going to have to start calling you granny . Get real man a 240 Automatic is boring and annoying . I should know . I had one and I made it go bye bye very fast . Pull that thing out an put in a 5 speed its like night and day. You will be sitting there going damn what the hell was I thinking this car is a blast.
Oh yeah stop being a pussy with your Turbo . Upgrade your fuel system with bigger injectors , fuel pump and ecu and crank the boost up to 7-9 pounds and say bye to 14's.

"anyone can drive a car there is no much skill to it un;less u go to a driving school"

are you serious???? THERE IS SO MUCH SKILL INVOLVED WITH DRIVING. YOU wont know because there is not much skill involved when you are just mashing your gas pedal down in your auto. With manual there is a lot more skilled involved in driving than you think. Lots of skills you have to learn before you can even start racing at a street competition level. You might have a nice car, but you aren't experiencing it all unless you get the manual. First go get a 5spd then go to a legal race competition such as auto X and win 1st place then you can proabably talk about if there is no skill involved in driving

I guess sleek240 last post said it all. You have to sell it now..... You don't have to build a car, you can always get a shop to do it for. But you can't have someone win you're races now can you?

Street racing at a competition level??? Street racing is just like drag racing. Go to a strip instead. Just cheaper in the long run.

sleek240 you're a grade A car owner...

then stop complaining to us you punk ass. You talk like you have not done shit to your car. You also act like an inexperienced driver. Can't take the heat? stay out of the f....... kitchen.
Sell your damn car you bored punk. Otherwise grow up become a man and learn what its like to really drive a car and not ride one like you obviuosly tend to do.
hell blow up the auto with your Turbo setup so you can put in a 5 speed at least you would have fun doing it.
But if you can't take advice mister newbie don't bother asking.

guys...could we all stop flaming? Not everyone is into "racing." Show cars are just as good....think about it, every 240 that's kept up in mint condition, is a well maintained 240 that later on we'll be able to buy after we completely wreck ours.

but honestly....sleed240...have you done much to the interior? suspension? soundsystem? how much chrome do you have?

things I can think of...if you want to build a show car, chrom parts....everywhere, custom made. under body, under hood, everywhere...except wheels...get some good racing wheels.

for the interior...order some 350z seats, put them in. also, do some lighting. do the standard system stuff, with effects.

there's still so much you can do....
