alright well i bought my car about a month ago as kind of a project. i got it home worked a few things out and now it wont start. i was checking the power to the fuel pump and one terminal has full 12v power and another has very weak power. The one that is very weak seems to go to the fuel gauge sensor so would it have weak power because it doesn't need power or could that be why my car doesn't run, or do i just need to replace the pump. If the low power is the problem what would i do to go about fixing it. I have replaced the relays and that didn't help and my fuse is good. Any help would be appreciated.

if your fuel pump is getting 12v.. why do you think its the fuel pump that's the problem?
Are you getting fuel pressure to the rail? If so, don't worry about the pump.
Buy a fuel pressure tester.. and while you're at it.. test the FPR. as you revv the engine up, the pressure should increase.
If you're getting fuel, test ignition. Are your plugs firing?

i am not getting fuel. there is no pressure in the lines thats why i thought even though the pump is getting the voltage it isn't doing anything with it.

read in the FSM about what the voltages should be, and where for the fuel pump.
If its getting volts and not pumping fuel, your pump is done.

there is nothing else it could be. i heard somewhere that a bad burned comp could also cause this aswell and i think the guy before me said it has a burned comp.

give it a shot but I think if the pump is getting 12v and isn't pumping.. its just a bad pump

Oh yeah, and put your ear to the sending unit with key on, you will hear the pump if it is working. If you have voltage.. pump is burned.
