I know many people have been looking for a video of the sounds of an RSR Exmag. I posted the video on the exhaust thread but I figured I'd post a new thread for it too. Enjoy.
There are 2 vids. One up close and one from like 5 feet away. Both show the car idling, revving to 3k roms, and then all the way to redline.
Mods include:
RSR Exmag
DC Sports Header
Chopped air box minus resonator
K&N Filter
S13 Dual Exhaust Cam set up
This is all on a KA24DE.
I shoot flames too :D, but that's a video for another thread.

It may be loud, correction... it is loud, but I love it.

did you do the exhaust before or after the header? how much difference (loudness/butt/real dyno) did the header make?

I did the exhaust before the header. The engine does get raspy. Hopefully the 95 intake manifoldI'm gonna install is gonna take care of that. The header made the biggest difference in the upper rpms. I really wanna dyno, but I'm waiting to get the 95 intake manifold on or I'll probably wait until I get my ITBs in and installed on the car :D

So excited.
EDIT: If yu notice the tip of the exhaust is freaking black from all the backfiring, lol.

I still think that exhaust is at it's best with a turbo KA... Not too loud, just rumbling, mean sounding...

Oh for sure. My friend has the older version of this exhuast, the Invidia one, on his GT35 powered KAT and it sounds sick. Very subtle rumble.

Sounds nice. Looks like you need new exhaust hangers.

i think it sounds good, but its still kinda high pitched, i thought they were very very deep, i mean it sounds great and all, but i was going to get one until i got my hks hi-power, is it just me or is the hks deeper...

The header add to tthe high pitchness. It was a slight bit deeper before the header. But below 3k rpms, it's pretty low. Take a vid of the car redlining to see how it sounds in the upper rpms. And why do I need new exhuast hangers? The exhuast barely scrapes anything. There's a good amount of clearance. Maybe bushings because the exhuast shakes a lot when hitting redline? Could also be motor mounts :dunno:

The tip hitting the tie down must be annoying. Get a crowbar and bend it up out of the way.

Thats just normal after a week of the tip not being cleaned. It isn't from backfiring.
...i too hear a little raspyness to it. But im guessing this is cuz its NA....
Its because its not warmed up. Mine is raspy too until the systems gets hot.

Atually the tip doesnt hit the tie down. There's no metal to metal action going on. Even after I clean the tip, it has a nice clean burnt look to it lol. And the car was warmed up when I recorded it.

GT2 != Exmag. The GT is loud as can be because it's as straight as possible.

And that's how I know your hangers are blown.

Thats one of the things i really like about the exmag. Its almost as if u hear more of the engines sound instead of just the exhaust's augmented sound. It sounds nice..more hardcore. Even if it is loud.

Is the tip supposed to be hitting the towhook? Seems kinda retarded to design a stock looking exhaust that'll hit the towhook.

I removed my towhook. I guess you should too.

Stock exhaust has 2 tips that go on each side of the tow hook. It's in a totally useless spot if you ever need to tow your car. Most people chop it off when they put their exhaust on.
I think it would look much better with the muffler tucked in and the tip flush with the bumper. New hangars make a world of difference.

Hmm, true. Should I just get some better bushings, or replace the actual hangers on the exhaust?
BTW: The car is getting dynoed at my friends school right now hopefully, so we'll see how much power these few mods have made and how it's affected the powerband. I'll post up the sheet when and if I get it, lol.

The bushings sorry. The bushings are part of the hanger system.

Haha, ok, I was like, man, I dont wanna chop up my hangers of my nice exhaust, lol. Yeah, I figured I needed to change the bushings, but I'll take care of that at a later time. :D Thanks for the tip though.

yea dont get those cusco exhaust bushings though, the Nismo ones are like 100x's better. They are solid and rigid as fuck.

Comeout to one of the SoCal meets and if you're behind me during a drive, you'll see them. Just ask SR20DETMan and a couple of the other Irvine guys, lol.

It's quiet on turbo, but with the header I have on and the exhuast, no way, lol. Working on getting an EVC to quiet things down for when cops are around. Moving back to Irvine sooo...
