I don't think he was calm and collected, I think he was dumb and lucky. Hanging out on the inside of a turn is usualy one of the safter spots if you going to be that close to a race car flying by you. That situation came up so fast I don't think the guy had a whole lot of time to react. You can see the way he walks after, either he dumped a load of shit in his pants or he is a stiff bandy-legged old man and wasn't able to move quickly anyway.
