Depends on what engine you have in your 240.
This is, of course, assuming you're talking about your 240sx...

I'll assume you've got a SOHC KA. The idle-adjuster is on the right side of the throttle body butterfly. IIRC, the tiny nut is an 8, and you'll need a flat head.

soch, what are you thinking?
You always adjust the idle air control valve first.
If NECESSARY, then you adjust the TB.

What about for DOHC?

found this on f/a for sr:

setting your idle on sr:-

1) warm up the engine 'til the upper radiator hose becomes hot to touch.
2) make sure the idle adjustment/self diagnosis screw on your ecu is turned anti-clockwise (opposite from self diagnosis position).
3) shut down the engine, disconnect the tps coupler.
4) start the engine, rev it past 3000rpm for a couple of times, then let it settle down and idle.
5) adjust the screw on idle air control valve and set idle to 750rpm +/-50.
i.a.c. valve is attached to intake manifold, located between the plenum and cylinder head.
a small screw should be poking out vertically.
turn clockwise to lower your idle, anti-clockwise to raise your idle.
6) adjust timing to 15 degrees btdc +/-2.
7) reconnect tps, note idle increase of 50rpm or so.
