I dynoed my car on sunday, and hit 225rwhp and a low 180 torque.
Mods: s13 redtop sr, s15 turbo 3'downpipe, 3' project silvia test pipe with resonator, 3 inch catback with magnaflow muffler, walbro 255 fuel pump, apexi power intake, 7.5 lbs boost with stock side mount.
next on list to buy, engine trans mounts, hipro fmic kit, hks actuator, 550cc injectors and some other stuff. lemme know suggestions of what u all think i might need like fpr or what not. and what u all think about my numbers. and if anyone might know if my torque numbers are normal i thought they would be higher.
either way i was happy with 225 i was expecting something around 220-230 and i won a bet haha

what were your a/f and timing curves like? Torque seems kinda low

hey u got that much whp jst with that set up.... hmmm i really wanna know what i can get ....... post up ur graph/curves when u get a chance ... and yeah Tq does seem kinda low

yeh i didnt ever take initiative to post pics of the graph cuz nobody seemed to care haha, but yeh my maf plug was loose and i jsut fixed that so my car is smoother now, but my torque was low i dont know what it could be, i dont even think im boosting 7.5lbs i think its 7, like it matters much. i will post the graph when i get ahold of a camera again

be happy you cleared 225 with a stock sidemount.
FMIC will increase your torque, for sure.

i could easily go up with an hks acuator, i could prolly hit like 250 rwhp with sidemount...i dont know, but yeh im planning on buying a fmic as soon as i get my money. hopefully like u say my torque goes up cuz i have no idea why its low. i hope my engine is ok...i did melt a spark plug like a week after the dyno tho haha

your sidemount will be hitting a wall soon enough - it'll get too heat-soaked to be anywhere near efficient.
You can always check your compression if you're worried about your motor.

well last time i melted a spark plug, the first time actually. i checked my compression and i think it was like 146 142 147 137? or something i have no idea i dont remember, those numbers could be wrong but i believe theyre supposed to be 150. someone told me 155...i should just check my compression again...but even if the numbers come out bad....not much i can do shit i dont even know how my headgasket hasnt blown yet :)
Edit: oh and also i would really daily drive my car with too much boost on the side mount...i think it gets hot enough at stock boost, lol either way im getting the fmic soon enough. but i think i could hit 250+ rwhp with a sidemount at the dyno pretty easily just for that day at least

i thought 180 was good compression???

Mine was 150 for cylinders 1-3 and 50 for #4. YIKES!
Vatche

yeh if i remember correctly my #4 is the low one at 137 if thats what it was... and thats the cylinder im melting spark plugs in, but another reason it could have been lower was that there are only like 1-2 threads on #4 i have to fix that sometime soon.

or was that for the ka?

if you have heard 180 its definately not for the sr, cuz i have always heard 150-155 is good compression. so 180 might be KA but i cant tell you that for sure.
also im going to buy a FMIC this week and an hks actuator cant wait!

Dont bother purchasing motor mounts, stick to buying window urathane and filling them stockers up. This is something you really should do instead of wasting the money.
Dont buy an HKS actuator, an electronic boost controller is a wayyyyy better idea. Not simply for boost control, but you will make a good amount more torque because the EBC holds the waste shut until the last possible moment making the turbo spool faster. It costs more money then an actuator obviously but it was well worth it to take this route. Motor mounts are 200 for a set with the tranny mount, so you save 190 bucks going the urathane method, then whatever it is for an HKS actuator (35?), only a little bit more for a basic EBC.
Get some RAS for safety. I think RAS should be one of the first things anyone ever does for an SR.
Your in CA, avoid the front mount and save the money ;)
How much power do you want in the long run? You could always have somebody weld you up a stock replacement that will cool way better and not be so obvious to the authorities.
p.s. what kind of clutch do you have? When you turn the boost up no chance the stocker is lasting for long at all

i had an exedy stage 2 clutch but it wore unevenly do to a pilot bearing being loose or someshit, i have exedy stage 1 now cuz i couldnt afford another stage 2 at the time, but if my stage 1 goes bad im definately getting a stage 2.
whats RAS again?
and i was told the HKS actuator was better then getting an electronic boost controller or u do both. simply because the actuator holds it solid. explain.
i already bought the motor and tranny mounts for about 110 total. new condition. with a peak performance tranny race mount nismo motor mounts i have problems with nuts coming loose i dont know if i want to go solid mounts.
the front mount i am painting all the piping black and painting the front of the mount black also. it looks pretty sleeper on a pignose in black im not worried about that. the only thing that doesnt look sleeper on my car is my hks bov on the hotpipe. so i want to relocate that somewhere else.
thanks for the tips got anything else?

Rocker Arm Stoppers. They keep bad things from happening to your valvetrain if you hit the fuel cut. They are cheap and easy to install, do them for sure!
Read up about the differences between an upgraded actuator and a EBC. There are quite a big of differences. The only real advantage to an actuator only is cost though.

u should definitely swap out to an hks actuator. around 1.2bar on the s15 it starts to drop off. the hks unit will hold it well even around 1.4-1.5+

hks actuator will hold higher amounts of boost for longer. if u're not planning on going big boost (dont go past 10 with 370cc's) then get a ebc first. when u're ready to crank it up to 18 psi then get a actuator.

rocker arm stoppers , yeh ive been told to get those many times, i actually broke a rocker arm into 3 pieces but i didnt have the money to do anything at the time. i will definately get those.
the hks actuator i am going to get because i cant boost too much on stock injectors and until i go full engine management with bigger injectors im not going to need an electronic boost guage, and when i go more boost i will have the actuator already.
thanks for the responses i do appreciate good information

a liiittle OT but are these numbers achievable with the same mods except for a T25 instead?
