Im about to put my car on ebay, but I was looking for some pointers. Like, should I only accept Paypal to prevent scams or what? I don't know anything about shipping a vehicle, so I' assume that I should clearly state that it's up to the buyer to setup the shipping of the vehicle?
Any tips you can provide will help. Thanks guys.

I think your number 1 concern should be how you advertise it. I know a dude here with a kouki got like 16000+ for his car. After the comes logistics. Shipping should be up to the buyer- it is their full responsibility.
You should be able to accept a check but hold on to the title until the money has fully cleared into your bank account. You can do paypal as well, but figure 3% on 5000 is $150 bucks, if you are ok with that- go through with it.
You should also have a contract ready, I think the DMV has a bill of sale on their website which you can fill out so it can work as a contract shall anything arise in the future. You wan't to make sure you completely disassociate yourself with the car.

yea, i'd also tell the buyer to add the 3% that paypal takes, so say u sell it for 5,000, have him send u 5,150 so u actually sell the car at 5,000... also in the title put drift like 5 times, also put jdm, and silvia :) :) :)

Ok, 2 more questions:
1. Title: Do I just sign the back of the title (where indicated for the seller) and leave the rest for the purchaser to sign, then just mail it to the person?
2. Contract: How do I get the buyer to actually SIGN the bill of sale?

1 : yes i would only sign the back and fill all seller info needed and rest for the buyer
2 : fax him a copy ?

make sure you do a bill of sale "as-is" and be clear in the fs info...

1) you posted the same picture twice
2) did you clean the car? The cluster is dusty and the trunk area is a mess
3) som pics are unclear, you should add the enlarging option to zoom in on the pics
4) The suspension pic needs to be rotated
5) the bidding ends around midnight- not a good time for last minute bidding on your car. I prefer Tuesday- Thursday, when alot more people are home and around 9pm.
That's all for now.

Bleh...ironically enough, those 2 parts (trunk carpet and cluster, as well as the dash) I forgot to wipe off. I vacuumed the floor and everything. I took those pics off for now...I have to wait until I can get ahold of my girlfriend's dad's good sony camera to take better pics after I vacuum out the hatch area.
And good point about the relisting. For some reason I didn't even think about that. Never sold a car before :(

Ok, someone offered me a trade for a 97 Civic coupe (dont have anymore info on it just yet). Before you call me a dumbass, look at it like this: I trade for a civic then resale it for at least $4k (assuming its in good condition), then I'd be making double what I would have made selling my s13.
The only catch is how abundant civics are, but I figure if I offer the car for just like $4k that's still cheaper than a lot of other 97 civics for sale. It just might be hard to sell it because of how many there are...
What do you all think?

Be Very careful accepting Checks --They could be bad--even if it is a "certified" or "Cashiers" check. there are a bunch of people out there trolling for deals like this to scam you.
I suggest you take "cash" or a "wire transfer" to your bank ( you will have to contact your bank --DO NOT SEND BUYERS YOUR ACCT INFO! --your bank should be able to have the money sent to a holding acct and then transfer to your acct. ( once money is wire tranferred, the buyer cannot get it back)
FEDEX/UPS/DHL any paperwork you need signed ( do not send title until sale finalized) --This way you have actual signatures, not faxed copies/ photocopies.
If someone needs to ship --suggest they go here www.movecars.com

Thanks for the advice. I can definitely use the info for a relist, if it doesn't sell this time.

If it doesn't go well on ebay try to sell through the paper/locally. I've had many successful transaction through the Chicago Tribune. But, regardless of that. Good luck on the sale.
