Ok guys, my brake lights went out...made me mad but I did it the smart way and serched first. After searching I found out it was the brake light switch, and since I dont know wireing I had a friend who knows all the ins and outs do it for me. He said I was correct and it was the switch.
In this picture #1 had been sucked in and wouldnt come out

Thats all good and dandy so I bought a new one at kregin or however you spell it. It was identical and I was happy. He put it in and poof like magic they worked again. So im really happy and I drive home all good and stuff and when I get home as im getting out of my car in my driveway worst thing happens... you guessed it the lights wouldnt turn off. i tried everything and couldnt make it budge. So I called my friend and he said to loosen the thing with a 14. So I did an it didnt work i almost gave up and after tightening it back to normal i pressed it and up really hard.

In the same Picture i pretty much loosened the bolt right above 1, then pressed #3 toward the upper right side of the picture and it clicked in.

At that moment my brake lights turned off. Its a miracle, I pressed them and they worked perfect. I also played with the switch and made sure there was no play so it wouldnt you know like fall out or anything. It was good to go, so I drive to my friends bragging how good I am and all and we head to some guys b-day party. And as I go to check my car out halfway through, I see the brake lights on...yay. So I thought the switch got loose or something. Well I played with it and it wasnt loose and there wasnt any play and no matter how I moved it or played with it those lights stayed on. So I unplugged a part I will show you soon in the picture and they turned off. Plugged it back in and they stayed off. But pressing the brake didnt do anything putting me right back to step one. So I did every possible combination and nothing...super gay. Anyway thats where I am now. Im thinking the new switch blew somehow.
Heres what I did, I pulled #3 out of #2 and put it back in. That made them stay on still, so i put them back together and pulled #2 out of the main device and put that back in which made the lights turn off. After that to try and make them turn on I took 2 out of 3 and 3 out of the whole devive and nothing....

As I was fu**ing around with it I said "man this thing kinda shocked me" and my friend asked if there were any open wires or anything. So I looked carefully and the 2 wires by the #4 were kinda cut open exposing the actually metal part of the wire. Im pretty sure they could easily touch eachother as the platic covering the wires was pretty cut open.

My hope is that the 2 wires touched and fried the damn thing, allowing me to electric tape them and buy a new switch. But other then that I have NOOO idea. and Im sure the little plastic thing (#1) is working and not sucked in or broke off.

Do you guys have any idea what this might be? I really want to drive my car for these next 2 weeks and im sick of leaving it in the back since its been back there for almost a month untill today.
If anyone finds out what the problem is i will paypal them 2 bucks =D
haha seriously
And that could buy like 20 licorish or like 3 packs of gummy bears or if your creative a bunch of stickers or something else dumb nobody would ever want.
So if your saving up for that nice S15 turbo with FMIC and your $2 off your goal, help me out. Trying to make something bad into something good im really mad right now

That was like reading a four year old German kid's Christmas list, I didn't understand a bit of it.

Anyway, if the brake switch wiring is exposed and making contact, the lights will come on. You won't burn anything or cause any damage. Also, the switch is fully adjustable using the two locknuts to move it fore and aft to set it properly so that minor pedal movement will engage it. Tape the wiring up and readjust it until it sits right. #2 and 3 in your diagram are part of the switch and shouldn't be messed with unless you like breaking apart a good switch and making it useless.

You don't necessarily need a nissan one if the swith you bought fron Kragen are identical. You just need to adjust the engagement point of the one you have. For whatever reason after reading the pointless and long winded post I feel so bad for you that I'm willing to make your brake light work since I'm in Long Beach! Maybe because you sound so hopeless. Email me if you need help and willing to drive out to Long Beach.

I just have rediculously bad luck with cars. No matter how easy the job I always make things harder then they really making not only my friends mad, but mechanic and everyone that knows about the problem. Noone else in the world would have this problem where it just doesnt work for no reason lol anyway im gana try and get another one put it in and not mess with it at all.
but for the record they guy who knows 240's who is doing all my work did it and when I drove home it broke itself. I didnt touch it at all so Im trying to justify the fact that its not my fault.

Oh yea and on a side note sorry about the way I type my post's. Dont remember exactly what its called but I have the opposite of ADD. Its dumb its like where I overthink everything and cant look at anything simply. But hey im pretty good at chess haha. It slightly affect my typing and the way I talk to people too.

Damn you're depressing me more but I understand what you mean though. Sometime I overthink problems too when the answer is really simple. I find that for the majority of things the simplest answer is probably the best since there's less chance of things going wrong and introducing more factors.

k went to the nissan dealer today and the switch was $10 HAHAHA it was over $15 at kregen. I bought a drift knob too sweet. I never knew they had so much illagle stuff in the nissan dealership.
They had an SR20 red top built slightly and turbo's and stuff and boost guages. And best of all S15 headlights drool...if the nissan part works I will send krustin 2 bucks if he wants it lol
