View Full Version : Difference between SR and KA harness
Im just wondering what the difference is between a ka24de harness and an sr20det harness. I do not have both harnesses to look at so i was hoping someone that has done some swaps can tell me if there is any reason why an sr20det harness and ecu can not be used on a ka24de

What model KA are you going to get your CAS from? Do SR coilpacks even fit properly on the KA valvecover? Are you trying to use an SR power FC with a KA or something? Why are you trying to do this?
well im not actually doing it yet, just researching. I would like individual coil packs on my ka24de, and I noticed today that my sr CAS has the same plug as my KA distributor. I was thinking about using a bikirom to tune it and hooking up msd coils and running wires from the coils down into the spark plugh chamber. Like the guy on here that did ITBs and runs a haltech unit. But i would rather run bikirom since its cheaper and seems easier to me.

sr coilpacks will not work on the ka. they are a seperate harness from the engine harness, so it has nothing to do with either the ka or sr harness engine harness. And you cannot use a ka ecu on a sr or vice versa. Think about it for a moment.

actually you can use the sr coil packs and cas on a ka, you just cant use the stock ecu or wiring, i've seen it done before, let me see if i can find you some pictures and maybe specifications of the setup

It is possible to use SR coilpacks and CAS on a KA, it's been done numerous times, however you do have to modify and use parts from both harnesses.

But the SR CAS will not fit the KA block. Can't I just use the stock KA distributor and just not run spark plug and coil wires from it?
