Okay after getting a new radiator, it kept overheating, so I removed the thermostat completely because it kept overheating with a new one anyways. New water pump was installed. I seached all the threads and did everything everyone said which is: raise car, start car, turn heater on full blast, bleed coolant etc etc.

Strange thing is, the car would drive fine for a week, then last night it started overheating again. I was at work so i lifted the car, tried to bleed a little more but only coolant came out, so I closed everything back up and it drove fine!

Today I go and drive to work and it drives fine, no overheating (I work 30 minutes away) but as soon as I started the park, the car shaked/vibrated a lot. Not small vibrations more like big shakes kind of. The temp was fine and everything, I open up hood and check the radiator, the left side of the radiator was hot, but the right side of it was cool, very cool. I drive back home then halfway, it starts overheating and it was hell trying to get home.

Now I have no idea what's wrong with it. When it started overheating, I turned heater to hot at full blast and hot air DID NOT come out. I'm all out of idea's, if you guys tell me to bleed, I'll bleed it more but I did it last night for 30 minutes and nothing but coolant came out. I had 6 gallons of premixed coolant on hand that's why I made sure.

Do you guys think the water pump is out again? Nothing is leaking from it though so I'm not sure what to think. Can't be a thermostat problem since it's gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :sadwavey:

What motor is this ? My sr will overheat driving to work also and I work like 45 minutes away but it wont overheat until like the hill before where I work ??? I also changed the water pump before I swapped the motor in.

if yours is only while on the hill, it could be air pockets.

If its a blown hg be ready to pay. For my sr it was over 1k, but that b/c I upgraded to a cometic hg, and got arp studs. Some will say to do it yourself, but if your not that mechanically inclined its not something you want to try unless u have another car. BTW I had the same thing happening w/my sr so I removed the t-stat, got a new water pump, and a new radiator and the same thing was happening. ONe last test is to open the rad cap, turn the car on and see what happens w/the water. if everything is ok u should be able to see the water flowing, if the hg is blown, and u give it a lil throttle there will be air bubbles and the water will shoot out. Obviously don't do it while the car is warm, but since you've changed everythign else this test should just about nail it if its a blown hg....good luck

i wouldnt go tearing apart your motor just yet. start your car up and let it get up to temp just idoling or around 2K, get your self any kind of temp measureing device and stick it in the rad at diferent points. if any point on your rad is cooler than the out going coolant than you have a cloged radiator.

"the left side of the radiator was hot, but the right side of it was cool, very cool." no rad should be very cold if the car is warmed up. do you have alot of corsion or bugs leaves on the rad? if so i would replace it or clean it off.

where did you blead the coolant from? any time i drained my coolant i rarly use the blead valve, try leaving the cap off and add until you can add any more, then put the cap on go for a little drive with the over flow tank at max, it should suck coolant in when it cools down.

Do you still have a good thermostat? Check it with a pot of hot water then re-install it. The thermostat is an important part of your cooling system because it helps presurize the fluid.

Do a compression test to be sure your HG is ok.

Are you using the bleeder screw?

When you bleed are you masaging the upper coolant hose to get the air bubbles out?

I'll check the thermostat when I get it back from my friend, I left it in his garage.

Googling up how to do a compression test now

Yea I'm using the bleeder screw

Yes I'm also massaging the upper coolant hose to get the bubbles out

I haven't had time today to check it out, will do it tomorrow though

lots of milk in my oil, coolant keeps leaking but its not dripping anywhere

only conclusion is a blown headgasket

anyone have another KA24DE they want to sell cheap?
