ATS states that their LSD requires the use of their LSD oil, especially for the Carbon LSD. Anyone know what is in their special gear oil? It is dam expensive and i was wondering if it is really worth the extra money or not.
I suspect that when they tell me it is "especially required" for the carbon lsd it is BS. Why? because they only have one type of LSD oil, nothing saying it is formulated for the use with the carbon lsd.

Should i just throw in some redline and call it a day?
Or should i fork over the extra cash to play it safe and use the ATS stuff?
What do you guys think?

u should be ok using other stuff. their oil just has additives to quite it down. u can get the lsd positrack additive for 5 bucks and get some decent gear oil and call it a day.

only thing u should watch out for make sure if it requires SYNTHETIC use SYNTHETIC. if requires regular use regular. dont mix it up

You're close enough to Baker Precision that you should just go over there and grab some NEO 75w140.

ATS recommends four oils for their carbon diff: their own, NEO 75w140, and BP 75w90 or 80w140.

How is that Carbon LSD compared to other units like the KAAZ and Tomei?

Much less harsh engagement. Smoother would suit it better but it's under the character requirement.

Doesn't Redline and Royal Purple oil already add the necessary additives to there gear oils? Isn't the ATS models suppose to use synthetic?

anyone else on here have the ATS carbon lsd? what oil do you guys use?

Also to answer the other questions, the lsd locks very quickly with no noise and not nearly as harsh as a metal one would. It's supposed to last a lot longer too.
