When I had my fastback with Koukis awhile back, I always wondered if I could have fabbed up some way to have LED's in it, instead of the regular bulbs. One day, I was driving behind a semi, and looked at its brake lights. I saw that they were circular, and were LED. I looked them up online and saw they were pretty cheap (around $25 each).
I was gonna buy some and somehow modify my taillights and the wiring to fit these.
These are what I'm talking about.

It would look something like the Clearcorners one, but the round part would be fully lit up, not just around it.

I want to know your opinions, because I would do it, but I got a coupe now.

It would be hard since it not an altezza style light meaning the lense the outer shell. Euro sytle light have the red lenses inside while having an outer clear shell making replacing the lense to have an led look possible. So if you want, have to cut out a nice circle and learn to weld plastic together.

Buy em.
I think we've got a set of hatch tail lights you could mock up.
Gotta doublecheck with Braaaahh first. or he might cry and kick my ass.

Cheat, I don't wanna buy the lights, I got not hatchback to put it on. :keke:
trsilvias13, I know the lense is the outer shell, but I've had those lights before so I know how they are, I was just thinking of opening up the lense, and fabbing up something inside to hold the LED light.

i hate to be the hater
but i wouldnt hack up a set of kouki tails
it wont work on stock half and half tails, especially coupes
its gonna look like them erebuni 240sx 1980's tail light covers
just buy the euro half red half clear tails for coupe, and put in led tail light bulbs (the plug and play joints)

I'm not too worried about it, I just wanted to throw the idea out there. Besides, I wouldn't buy a set of Koukis when I can't even use them, lol.

You should just get a pair of taillights you willing to butcher get a buttload of these (20 c/piece) http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=197616
Stick them straight into the housing, completely disregard any lens problems, hook up wires from the bulb. Hard part? using basic circut design skills and radio shack parts to create proper voltage and current (1.8V & 100 microAmps)

i think about this too...but i dont think that it's going to be any cooler because it doesnt have a clear lense. so....just tossing led bulbs in there is what i am going to be doing.

but wouldnt it be cooler to get the cheap ass ebay altezzas, get something that would resemble the led pattern on the D-Max / Final Konnexion / wise sports, etc etc, paint the covers red, and have cheap LED "ghetto koukis"?

It would be wise for Peter Rabbit not to play in Mr Gregors garden.
Straight Tezzas would be coolest. I need to get on those, OE 240 fastback tails blow so much ass.
