I have a 92 FB with a sr, theres this cable on the lower harness that im not sure where it should be connected to, accroding the FSM, its suppose to be grounded to the chassis body but if i remember rite its was connected to the alternator, here are some pics.

looks like the alternator ground to me. Do you have your alternator all hooked up?

well, check to see if there is a ground cable on the alternator already. If there isn't, then that might be it. IF the alternator does have it, thne just ground it to the body I guess. lol

Look on the back of your alternator, you should see a black plastic circle thingy with a screw in the middle. This goes in the screw and held down by a bolt. Its your alternator ground.

BTW, anyone know how to test to see if the alternator is working right? I just hooked up a new one.

Wrong. The plastic insulated terminal is the charging stud, NOT the ground. Ground lead bolts to the case.

nope not even then. The bolt with the plastic will ALWAYS be your positive battery terminal charge lead. Not real sure about grounding an alt... never had to hook up a ground lead on any alt ive ever hooked up.

there is the 8mm bolt that would hook up to the alternator with that cable. its a ground cable. just look for a hole around the back of the alternator. it should be on the bottome of the postive wires or plug.

Its a ground im shure. Nissan wouldnt color code it black and make it a 2gauge for nothing. Plus the KA also has a plug for another set of wires guessing its the charge.

Still wrong. Ground lead is a 10gauge wire.
