I am wanting to paint the roof of my car black, but dont have a compressor or a spray gun. So I was looking at the rattle can method. What are the steps involved in painting a car, preping, color, and clear?
When buying the paint do I buy a glossy, semi, or flat, if I am going to clear it?
Thanks
Danny
Rattle can paint + rattle can clear = not glossy. Get someone to do it for you. Rattle can will look like crap.

Yes, if you want shiny paint, don't use rattlecan. If you like a matte finish though, rattlecan rocks! :rawk:
Also, rattlecans aren't made to spray straight down, so coverage on a car roof isn't ideal. I speak from experience.

yeah...its going to look like crap. if you dont care go for it! lol, i painted my bumper black again, and it looks fine from far away, but then when you get like 10 feet in front of it you see that its crappy.

x2 on that... for instance, my satin black 240's passenger side... the drivers side isnt down cuz ppl keep hitting the car, and im out of cash trying to source for my sr20 swap.

I got gloss on my roof. No problems what so ever. I did use Rustoleum professional... came out absolutely perfect with a shine.... Just prep it well and get rid of all dust... Primer helps a lot

Yea, rattlecan sucks balls.
I didn't remove my hood while rattling it, and it looks retarded.
I'm tempted to do the same paintstyle ThisGuy used. Just a different matte color.
