The SPL Parts TC rods are beautiful. I like Peak Performance stuff myself.

i'm most likely going to go with SPL TC rod after a bit more reviews and a little bit of research. But im also thinking of getting spl outter tie rods, but contemplating if i should get the spl inner tie rods as well as opposed to the tein inners. are they around the same cost? i'm guessing it would be the same since i live in canada and shipping would just kill me.
ive heard good things about spl parts but havn't heard about the tc rods they carry. what are the major differences between SPL and other brands such as peak performance?
sorry that i didn't search, im on a military base with a 20min time limit.
thanks for all the input guys! appreciate it
ps: is there any difference in the version 1 and version 2 SPL tc rod itself or is it just a price difference with a brake deflector?

SPL, SPL, SPL.
I bet if you would have take 5 seconds to search you would have found that out already.

its hard when you have a time limit and then you gotta read each thread. i usually do search before asking but i'm constricted by time.
anyone know the differences that make SPL better than other brands such as peak performance or tein?
thanks, much appreciated.

SPL uses very high quality materials, and over all the unit has very good fit and finish.
I would not say that in this case the SPL is better than the Peak Performance, I think they are about the same. PP uses Aurora rod ends, which are just beautiful. Real race car stuff. Don't know about the SPL, but I have held them in my hands and they seem to be of top quality. You can't go wrong with either brand.
The Tein are sub standard. Not low quality like ebay stuff, but not great either. I would not reccomend the Tein TC rods ( what I have on my car )

the differences are mostly the construction of the rod. kazama for example, from what ive heard is just cast metal. shitty shit shit. very brittle. ive heard horror stories of rods just snapping. thats what seperates the good from the bad. the JIC's are absolute tanks. I have tein tie rods, and they are MUCH thicker than stock. very nice pieces, and i usually hate tein haha. PP parts are good as well. search the group buy on here, theres another guy selling whole adjustable kits for s13s and s14s that are also extremely good.

SPL tension rods use completly huge sealed QA1 rod ends. extremely high quality. comprable to aurora or alinaball. no cheeseball grease fitting tractor junk like c tune or powertrix, race parts only. Additionally, the fine pitch thread makes adjustment much easier.
as for the arms themselves they are machined solid aluminum, lighter than a hollow piece of steel tube but stronger, with an anodized finish that wont chip off like paint
basically they are just a superior product at a superior price. best tc rods on the market! buy buy buy

ya ive done a bit of reseach and SPL Tc rods are only 180$ while the other good name brands like PP are around $230ish. From wat i've seen/read it seems SPL is superior in quality and price. i will be getting SPL TC rods and probably the set of tie rods too. no point in gettin tein inner tie rods if i get SPL outters.
the SPL inners also have the same spacer that the tein one does right? so they both achieve the same purpose right?

I have the SPL Z32 inner and outer tie rod set w/ spacers on my S13 and I very happy with them. A separate observation: I also have their Z32 SS brake lines and wish they were a little longer since they stress a little at full wheel lock with the extra angle provide by the tie rod spacers.

ebay brand will work also, but why waste money on shitparts..
the spl tie rod ends have a larger spacer than kazama, and the heim is also like 2x as big, and made out of steel instead of aluminum, so you get more bumpsteer adjustment, and much stronger (kazama/kts rod ends fail pretty rapidly). also they are way cheaper and come with tie rods.

are the SPL inners the Z32 inners, but also include a spacer? or are there different ones to choose from?
and i agree with SPL outters, better bumpsteer adjustment with the heim joint, unlike tein that uses the stock grease fitting.

spl charges $10 for the spacers.
the main advantage tein has over spl is price. tein inner outer + spacer is $150. spl will cost you $260 with the spacer. you get what you pay for.
