i just recently purchased a tomei head gasket from phase2 motortrend, the one i purchased was at 87mm bore and 1.2mm thick, this is gonna go into a s14 sr20det, now my question is will the bore size make a difference? i believe stock for the s14 motor is 86mm bore, and yes im runnin stock pistons, ect... i was told by phase2 that it does not make a difference to run a bigger bore headgasket as long as ur piston's bore isnt bigger than the headgasket bore...is this true? any help would be appreciated thank you

Itll work, all its gonna do is drop your compression a bit. Not enough tho for you to notice it. When you change your headgasket, go to kragens or autozone and look for this cooper headgasket SPRAY thing. Spray it on both side of the headgasket when you install it, itll help it seal better.

i had the same worries but the machine shop as well as some dude at enjuku told me .5mm over on the head gasket is standard. but you're an entire mm over.

beats me.

don't forget to copper spray and gasket seal everything. i gotta take my shit apart again cause i fugged up the oil pump sealage.
