So I went to put my tranny on my sr last night and couldn't find the spacing plate that goes on the engine between it and the tranny. For those of you who dont know what I'm talking about, its a 1/8 inch thick cadmium plated steel plate that sits on the engine between it and the bellhousing. I either need to get a new one or make one. Anyone know where I could find one of these or if it's something that would be on an early Sentra SER? I know the block is supposed to be the same, but I'm not so sure that transmision/bellhousing bolt pattern would be the same. I found the Nissan part number for the plate but still have no idea where to get it from since it's a japanese part #. It's called the Rear Engine Plate 30411-52F00. Below is a pic of what I'm talking about. I've also heard I can just go without it, apparently one guy did on his KA and hasn't had any issues. Any help is appreciated.

its called a dust shield, and have you tried the KA one? I'm not sure if it fits but its worth a try.

My friends SR didn't have it installed and he had all kinds of issues. He put it back on and everything went back to normal. The clutch/tranny was making a sound like piston slap.

SR needs them 100%. KA, not so much.
