View Full Version : FS: rb25det in the bay area (pics) $1700obo

I have a rb25det sitting in my cousins garage. Unsure of miliage and year.

Here is what it comes with.

- motor
- 5 speed transmission(could be 6sp but it says 5sp on it and felt like 5 gears) with nismo clutch (says nismo on it. not sure if its factory that says nismo or a nismo clutch but the number on it was 32010-RS581)
- starter
- alternator
- ignitor chip
- turbo, stock bov (checked out the turbo w/ no shaft play and spun smooth)
- hoses and other little accessories. (some hoses will need to be replaced as with any other motor because some are cracked and or leaking)
- harness (cut and will need a new harness)
- no ECU. Might be able to get you a Haltech ECU but i dont know if it works with this motor personally. Do some research or get a stock ecu.

Other than that, everything looked fine. I checked out the motor today. There is no Intercooler or intercooler piping (obviously, most do not come with it. Will have to make own piping and get an intercooler).

I have not done a compression check on the motor and do not know the compression. Again, this motor is USED and has been sitting in my cousins garage for 2-3 years but most motors sit for a long time anyways so regular matinance is nessessary due to it sitting for so long. So the condition of the internals is unknown. I assume it is good just like most jdm motors people buy.

I was going to use this motor for my own car but I think I'll just go with a s14 sr since thats what I have been wanting for a long time so Im selling this.

Anyways Im looking to sell for $1700 obo. I figure a new harness and ecu will still put you under 2200. Make offers. Local bay area only and serious buyers only please.

I would love to get this. Why do all the good deals have to be on the other side of the country. I'm about to spend $1700 on a motorset with a cut harness. If this thing goes to ebay within the month let me know.

Maybe if you offered to pay for shipping, just have him arrange it. You'd be surprised what can happen, even though he preferred local. ASK!

shipping COULD be arranged but I dont know how or who to ship with. You would have to set it up. If no one local is willing to pick it up I can sell it to you if you set up the shipping etc etc.

How badly cut is the harness, is it clean cut or completely thrashed. Also it has an ignitor chip, that means it's probably series 1. Does the maf plug have 3 or 5 prongs? No ecu is the hardest to fix, if you can go lower on the price then I'll be willing to buy in 2 weeks.

The wiring isnt badly cut if I remember correctly. Id have to go check next time I can get to my cousins house. Ill try and get some better pics next time.

No rush, it'll be at least 2 weeks before it'll have the rest of the money depending on how much shipping is. From what I've seen shipping is going to hurt a lot on this. A 720lb package cross country, oh damn.

For reference, my SR20DET engine set costed me $440 to ship cross-country to my residence. Weight was documented as 700lbs.

youre better off finding a redtop with no ecu/harness for 1000 bro. $500 more and you can have a RB.
