hello, im wondering if its ok to mount the bov to my cold pipe? whats the difference between it being on the hot or cold pipe. ive heard when on the hot pipe by the turbo its more responsive and not haveing a late sound to it when on the cold pipe. could be wrong. reason i ask is im planning on upgrading my turbo later on and im going to need a bigger pipe than the stock 2in. and i might want to go top mount.
ive searched and searched but not seeing much on this.
thanks for looking into it and if respond thanks for the input.

blowing off further away from turbo (by TB/coldpipe) = lesser compressor surge compared to the bov being mounted closer to the turbo/hotpipe
*edited

closer the bov's to the throttle body the better, that way when the TB closes all the excess blown air doesn't have to travel back closer to the turbo to vent since it's by the hotpipe

correct me if i'm wrong

shouldn't have any problems on the otherside of the cooler most honda guys run it on the cold side, i've seen a few nissan setups on that side and nothing comes to mind that would make it all that big of a deal.

I think you contradicted yourself..

But yeah, i see most cars with them on the hotside, but tahts because people just get hotpipes with the flanges, and can still keep stock piping, just more user friendly. Ive seen a car with 2 bov's before too, one on both sides, kinda weird if you ask me

thanks for the input guys,
i was thinking before that having it closer to the throttle body was better but i guess it doesnt matter that much, just as long as it works. i think im going to put on the cold pipe, once again thanks,:bigok:

Mine is now on the cold pipe, have i noticed anything? no not really, but it does create more room for filters and catch cans and whatnot.

why would it sound different? i guess it would probably be quieter since its on the passenger side lol.
