I got the final pieces for the 240 so now she's ready for paint. I was debating for a while whether to get the JDM rear valences or a complete replacement rear bumper. After looking around at several bumpers I didn't quite find one that would match with the subtle styling of the JDM sideskirts. So I finally decided on the JDM rear valences. Plus everythings and OEM prduct and I don't have to deal with fiberglass. Enjoy, opinions welcome:biggrin:

Nice. Exactly my thoughts & personal aero combo. (minus the zenki sideskirts) I'm using the Zenki rear valences, kouki skirts, and USDM Kouki lip. Where did you get your Kouki lip from? I also wanted to steer clear of fiberglass and went all OEM.

Step 2: Burn it
Step 3: Apologize to us for posting pictures of it
Step 4: Buy JDM kouki bumper

I agree 100% with the first three steps to recovery. The last three no. The stock kouki JDM looks just as akward as the USDM bumper.

Not really feelin it. Not a big fan of usdm kouki front. At least get a jdm mesh grille. I dont like the rear valences either, doesnt match(maybe just your pics). Sunk wheels with jumbo tires dont do it for me either. But, if you like it, its all that matters. BTW, I have jdm aero rear bumper and valences and IMHO it matches well, but you cant please everyone. Some people like aggressive aero some people like oem aero.

JDM mesh grill will be ordered in the next couple weeks. I was thinking about the Kouki bumper and valences, but I don't really like the little lip on the back, but that's just me. As for the kit matching, it still needs to be painted. I am getting the entire car sprayed in the next couple months and I wanted to get everything ready before paint.
As for the wheels and tires, I got them cheap so I could do my 5 lug swap. I am looking into getting new ones this spring. Most likely some 17x9's in front and 17x10's in the rear.

I am running the same combo.
usdm lip, usdem s/s and jdm rear zenki valence, but I have a kouki Jdm spoiler. Look nice. I wish there was a wrap around lip for the 240sx that fits the usdm bumper.

Just make sure you paint the lip too.

I like the USDM Kouki bumper on black or darker colored cars. The optional lip just sets it off... USDM looks more "unique" AKA slightly borderline ugly but ath the point where you just like it. .The JDM Vs. USDM Kouki Bumper debate is just as hardcore as the SR Vs. KA LOL.
I got my front lip from a buddy of mine at cost, $100 BRAND NEW
Score. For the price I paid for mine last week I could have brought 3 of your lips + 16 Dbl Cheesburgers & Lg. Sprite from Mikey D's.

what do you mean do it right? its all preference on what kind of aero you want. theres no right or wrong way to do it unless you get cheap ass knock off shit that doesnt fit. i rather much have subtle clean looking jdm aero than aggressive gigantic origin or version select frp that will crack when you hit a racoon. i hate how the bottom half flares out rather than in like the JDM version. that, and its still...awkward looking IMHO.
radical suggestion since I hate the USDM bumper with a vengeance:
sell kouki fenders, headlights, grill
buy Final Konnexion covers + zenki headlights, zenki fenders, etc, HID Retrofit + custom paint black housing
and...NAVAN BUMPER, which is designed for those sides and rear.
oh and sell the wheels
i learned my lesson. keep it stock till u can afford proper sizes. Never again do i go with random used unknown stuff just cuz its cheap.

I was convinced to get the whole JDM aero package after seeing this pic:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/turdz/s14_jdm_aero.jpg
As you can see, when the car is lowered, the front lip awkwardness goes away completely, and its great features start to shine.
Anyway,
Suggestions to the Thread-starter
1) More flush wheels and tires
2) Paint match rear bumper & valences (even mine is off color)
3) Paint front Lip
4) Get a nice exhuast to finish it off :)

My opinion, I think kouki is very aggressive...bigger works better. I think a modified USDM looks better than JDM cause it's more aggressive. Like the one posted above and this..

http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i303/dunkee1/CRW_1381.jpg
JDM looks better when it has greddy or other aftermarket bigger lip. Like so..
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i303/dunkee1/226_2694.jpg
but for that you can just get a whole aftermarket bumper and it will be much cheaper.

Lip or not, the USDM front is boxy, flares outward awkwardly, and way too busy with all the holes and shit. It's gives the impression that the entire kouki front is puckering up, squishing together.
That red car needs to have its front end chopped off.

I did it for myself. After looking at the zenki rear valences more I thought they looked funny. So I go the kouki valences and bumper instead. The valences tie into the rear bumper more, instead of just sitting on the side and looking awkward. I liked the USDM bumper with lip, but after seeing a couple pics of the JDM bumper with the greddy lip I immediately fell in love with it. I was just asking for peoples opinions. I can make up my mind for myself and that's exactly what I did. Of course some people are going to say that they like the USDM bumper better, but after careful consideration I decided to go JDM instead. I appreciate your opinions, but I can assure you this, I made my decision to make myself happy. And although I spent a lot more than I wanted to I am COMPLETELY HAPPY with everthing. Now I'm ready for paint in 3 months and motor swap in 4 months!!!!
