Today I had to run by the junkyard to pick up some parts Bender Bob was holding for me that I needed for my new S15 Spec R I picked up for 800 bucks:fawkd:
Anywho, while I was there I figured I'd take some pictures and post them up here for the hell of it...

This is what it looks like when you walk in. Note the cute Japanese girl in the green shirt on the right. Moments after I took this picture that car fell on her and killed her. I watched her soul float away. It was freaky.

That's the truck they use to go pick shit up with. It's pretty bad ass. If you need to get rid of a car here for a mere 10,000YEN they will come to your house and make it go away.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/3.gif
This is on the way back to the cars. The building on left is where they dismantle the cars.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/4.gif
Steering wheels and suspension. All dinky Kei van parts.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/5.gif
Yes I know I put 'they' instead of 'the'...:fawk2:
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/6.gif
This is where the rows of cars start. The crane thingy on the left is how they move shit around.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/7.gif
This is what it's like roaming through. Dangers include falling in mud and big ass spiders...
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/8.gif
I've bought a number of cars in this junkyard which basically means I get to strip the shit out of them and then they make them disappear. These are two of them. I ask them not to stack their shit on my shit but they ignore me.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/9.gif
Bender Bob already yanked the motors for me... in return I gave him... you guessed it... beer.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/10.gif
S13 SR Q's. Lots of shit to pull but I'm going to wait until it gets cooler. It's hot a hell at the moment.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/11.gif
R32 GTS. I love those taillights... Everything else is pretty much worthless.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/12.gif
Another R32 GTS. This one had an RB26 swap which is now sitting happily in the corner of my garage.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/13.gif
R33 GTS. Nothing special. Might nab the tailights.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/14.gif
Nissan Cedric. Kick ass car. turbo VG. The bastard even starts up.
http://www.ghost-dancer.com/jdmjunkyard/15.gif
This is the crane I mentioned before moving a car.
I guess that's about it. Basically it's a U-PULL-IT sort of deal. Go get what you want and go up front and pay for it. If you don't get "in" with them it's not exactly cheap. When you ask how much something is they look in a book and quote you some ridiculous price though. I'm "in" so I get good deals. :rawk:

You don't....
The girl really died and I laughed a little. Her sould gave me the finger though which just made the situation even funnier to me.
I'll take some pictures of the S15 soon. Probably this weekend while I'm working on it. It's good it was so cheap though because I won't feel bad when I slam it into a guardrail:2f2f:

That some trip if you are able to pick up such a awesome specimen of a car like a S15 for so cheap. F*cks who sell imported cars like that rape people with the prices.

post pix of your s15 spec R plz. do they get alot of tuner cars there? the u-pull that i've been to is full of domestic sedans and crap, nothing as cool :(
Ghost Dancer
07-25-2006, 08:08 PM
Actually the S15 was a RARE deal. It belonged to a guy who is moving overseas for work and he needed to get rid of it in a hurry because he thought the motor was blown (just needed a new headgasket) and the shakken ran out. A friend was going to buy it off him but I lured him away with an RB motorset so I could nab it. If I wouldn't have stumbled across this deal I would have had to pay at least 8 grand for one.
Regardless though. Cars are cheap as shit here. You can get nice Silvias and 180s for under 3k and R33 GTRs can be had for 6k-7k if you know what you are doing. I was inch away from buying an R32 GTR built to hell a couple months ago for 4k.
Oh and yes that was a chick and yes she died. Funny stuff.

Usually the S13s, S14s, Skylines, etc.. you see in the yards have been tooled around with. It's actually pretty rare to see one on the streets here that isn't tuned so the same is true of cars taking up space in the junkyards.
Almost all of the cars I've stripped have had suspension mods, and I've nabbed a number of guages, steering wheels, engine parts, etc..
If I was living around Tokyo though I would never be able to do this as those yards are pretty much locked down by people exporting parts out of the country. There seems to be alot of Nigerians in that game.
Being able to speak Japanese opens doors everywhere here and the junkyards are not an exception.

You gota watch out of thouse GTRs and Skylines for 6-7k though, imo the shitty ones are less than 10k, 12k and up you can find pretty nice ones.
the 7kish ones are pretty similar to your S15 prediciment blown motor + no shakken
kudos on the nice find :)

Throw in the cost of a new motor and inspection and you're still saving. The downside of the GTR though is after you have one they tend to drain you dry. I bought an R32 GTR back in the day (this was before the R34 came out. lol) and that bastard burnt a hole in my pocket.
It's funny about Japan though. There is such inconsistency in pricing it's ridiculous. I've seen pristine GTRs go for low 10s and pieces of shit going in the 20s.

yeah, yeah, yeah...everybody else but us want what is in our junk yards...some muscle car headz in japan would pay top dollar for an 1988 Mustang GT, or a corvette, etc...
cool pics, but it is a joke that all the kids here want a $10 set of lights and are willing to pay 100-200. :keke:
I rode the "jdm" bandwagon for a while, about 7 years ago, then I started caring about my money.

But yeah, its weird to think that people over there see these cars everyday and think nothing of it. But to us its like "OMFGWTFBBQLOL!1!".
Are there any cars of ours that they want over there? :bigok:
