Before I start scour the net...I was hoping someone can give me suggestions, opinions or any information I can check out in regards to aftermarket GPS navi systems.

I just took up a job as a courier and I know how to read a map...but it sucks at times (gawd I hate residental).I work on commission which is 50% of the price the customer gets charged...so you see the more jobs I do the more money I bring in. So I figure I invest in a GPS navi system to streamline my productivity. . ;) I will make do for now as I search for the ideal system..and I'm pretty sure I can buy it after my first paycheck.

I'm just looking for something I can install in the second din or elsewhere and allow me to keep my existing headunit since its fairly new (and nice).

I plan to work here for about two years...but of course I can use this system for more than just work use...however I can make it a tax write-off.

Thanks for any reply.

Right now I'm considering the Garmin Streetpilot i5: http://www.garmin.com/products/spi5/

why not go all out and get a portable one?? i suggest the garmin nuvi 360. it has bluetooth so you can make calls on it while driving. its also an mp3 player. so you basically get a navi system, wireless car phone, and mp3 player all in one.

I would recommend something that has a GXM 30™ antenna. Then you can get XM weather/Traffic. Garmin's site seems to be not up to date cause I just saw that they have weather on a unit at Circuit City.

My dad just got the GPSMAP 496 for his plane and the XM weather is amazing. I know some people that have the NavTrafic and love it. It's defy worth the money if you are using it for work.

Incase someone did a search, I decided to bump this thread to let everyone know I went with the Garmin mentioned in my first post.

It's very easy to use, the audible navigation has great clarify and the display is clear and easy to read. The display also adjusts the brightness due to the lighting outside and results with no glare from even direct sunlight. This unit is small and most importantly simple. :)

Usually $340+

I bought mine slightly used from eBay because no other place locally had them instock...plus the condition was like new. You can find them from retailers such as Circuit City, Best Buy and Newegg.com (my fave).
