...Chula Vista police say it must have been a fast and furious heist...

i like how the article claims its a 'tuner' car.. with modifeid front bumper, engine, suspensions, and POWRFUL SOUND SYSTEM. hahahah
thats what every 'tuner' car has.
but yea.. car is probably getting its parts stripped and sold in mexico now like the article says.

LOL! You're joking I hope. Have you ever seen the car? Civic Si is like $20000 at least. So they couldn't have put $15K in parts and labour? They said it is valued at, not what it would sell for.
Friggin theives!

I wouldnt drive a Si around town over any 240. It could be smoking, 100 different colors and 3 donut tires and I would rock it before Si. Not the most logical pick but thats just me. *a

I would rather drive ANY newer Honda DAILY over any S-chassis. But I'll always want to have an S-Chassis as my fun car.

fuck that.. modified cars get jacked everyday.. so why does this one get media attention and the police department actually commenting on wanting to recover it? with all the illegal shiney engine mods on it.. yah california like the police department cares. Wasnt there a thread about how CHP wants people to not mod thier cars? lol
Investigators say it's possible the vehicle may have been taken across the border and perhaps being dismantled.
uhhh yah the hell does that mean? The police department is practically saying that they wont do anything and just assume "oh well its too late, probably in mexico already"....

how is this car even worth $35k parting out?
"For their Civic Si, Tein add their Tein coilovers with the company's in-cockpit Electronic Damping Force Controller. But this show car goes well beyond just suspension mods. The engine sports a ball-bearing turbo kit with RC 550 cc/min injectors, an AEM fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator, and a custom exhaust system.
Rotora's big brake kit is combined with stainless steel brake lines and performance pads. The radical exterior is thanks to a custom 55 mm widebody kit, modified front bumpers, side skirts and rear bumpers, and an APR carbon fiber front diffuser, canards and rear wing. "
OK slightly used tein coilovers and EDFC. $1500 ON a good day.
Civic SI Turbo Kit $3500 maybe 4k if you find a die hard SI fan
Rotora brake kit $1000 (donated anyway)
Seats/Stereo/ Interior BS $2000 if you find a buyer for red sparcos and money to burn.
Custom molded in bodywork that's easily traceable to the car? A stock SI body pannel you can sell for $300 each easily. A 55mm widebody pannel kinda requires the whole moulded it kit.. Go sell it yourself to a cop on ebay. Maybe $1200 depending on how easily it comes off the car. Let alone how long it'd take you to ditch the tein decals and paint. Show cars are notorious bondo beasts.
Stolen Wheels.. 1k
What's left? A 06 civic SI with no bodywork, no airbags, good engine/tranny (if someone feels like doing a 06 civic engine swap into something, that's a wireing nightmare) and a unsellable hulk of car to a group with no real needs. Right now everything for that car is under warranty so no one needs a air compressor or good radiator or window switch or dash trim piece...
I'm at 10.2k. They'd be lucky to get that... I also doubt it was one man job. Crime doesn't pay.

nahh I've never stolen anything... just don't see why people steal something like that... seriously.. divide it up between two and 5k don't go far.. but that's along time in prision for 5k.. better off stealing a new vette or mustang or something.. just stupid criminals to take a marked car like that...
btw HKsilvia..

Fook it...doesnt matter for tein, they can write it off their business tax as a loss on top of the insurance for it. Its an asset of the company so i dont see why they wont be getting their money back.
