I was just wondering, if you can swap a KA tranny to a Sr20det??? I'm sure that its not a direct bolt, but can you just swap the sr20 bell housing???

thanks if any one can help

i believe you can use the ka tranny and bell housing... pretty sure it bolts up, doesnt make sense for nissan to develop two different tranny and bell housings for the same chassy. if not i know for sure the ka tranny will bolt on the the bell housing... but i'm almost sure the ka and sr trannies are the same they just vary from s chassy to s chassy in the number of splines

the bolt pattern ishould be the same, the differences are the SR20DET has a different transmission harness . There is only 2 sensor on the JDM tranny where there is 4 on the USDM one, and the sensor connector are different. but all the connector on the engine are the same. So you can use the KA’s transmission harness on SR20, and i think the dust collar on the back of the transmission are different.. so you have to switch it or else the drive shaft won’t fit
correct me if I’m wrong

Holy fuck.

Guys, welcome to Earth. KA->SR or SR->KA, same thing. Remove bellhousing and bolt it right up to the other transmission. This info has been well documented for at least as long as the internet has been around.
