Help me out here, guys. I just picked up a set of SSR Professors for a great deal and I'm looking at my options as to what I can do with them. I've searched "SSR", "SP1", and "Professor" with everything from "hoop" or "shell", to "Kodiak" and I still couldn't find a definitive answer.

Does anyone know if I can unbolt the faces and add new shells to make for better offsets? I can't reverse the wheels unfortunately because the offset is a bit too high, but I would like to decrease the offset of the rears a bit for more lip and better fitment. I found one thread that said that SSRs are press fit and need to be heated to remove the faces, but obviously that sounds like a 2-piece wheel. Has anyone seen or heard of a Professor being broken down for this purpose?

Worst case scenario I could buy new inner and outer shells and bolt the Professor face on them, correct?

You got it right

Call up an SSR dealer, tell them the offset you want, unbolt yours
Put a small amoutn of sealant on the meshing faces, and tq to 50 inch pounds if htey are bolted
if they arent bolted, dont spread em

i did it with my volks
