View Full Version : This garage I walked into

It's the garage at my girlfriend's sister's boyfriend's house. To simplify that, the guy nailing the sister of who I'm nailing - owns this house.
And in his garage has not one, but two cars that I never really thought I'd see outside of television.
The first is a Shelby Cobra 427. Sure, I've seen a couple cruising around town, but come on. Never seen one parked anywhere... except this garage. So I drooled on that for a bit while I slowly counted to myself before turning around, because I was sure that the other car was an illusion. I mean - this other car wasn't even street-legal. It never will be. So it was just a figment of imagination when I saw it the first time, right?
Who really has an F1 car in their garage? This guy, apparently. And he parks his Cobra next to his F1 car.
Bastard.

The owner and the sister are planning a week-long vacation, so I'm doing everything possible to secure a drive through Tampa in one of the two cars. But I'm not making much headway.

He must be.. he's like 50, and his gf is a 27 year old smoking hot russian chick.
The photos on his wall show that he was in a pit crew at some point. And I know he was in the FBI for long enough to get pension and retire. He's now a PI. But none of that leads to 'filthy rich', so it may not be true, or he's inherantly wealthy.
I don't know much there.

And Barry, I was too awestruck to think about taking cameraphone pics. But next time I head over there and sneak into the garage, I will.

Hmmm, if he told you he was in the FBI, then he probably wasn't. He's just using the FBI to cover up whatever larger organization he was working for. Check all the candlesticks in the house to see which one opens the Batcave. :keke:

Can't wait to see the pics from next time. :D

you can buy f1 cars, for race purposes. they are quite expensive...6figure range iirc. there's like 1 hondaguy on honda-tech, that had one, but he was in brazil. it was one from the late 70's. pretty awesome, but it was expensive, and he's probably a druglord.

Sometimes they are in Dupont Registry for sale. I have seen a few without engines in he 6 figure range. Still, I would love to say that I park my 427 next to a F1. Is it a real 427 or Kit?

+1 for pics *a

Ferrari sells their old F1 cars (not sure how old), I know I read that somewhere but I cant find it through google...

What team and year is the car?
There is a Top Gear or 5th Gear episode in which a dude buys one of Michael Schumacher's older F1 cars from Ferrari. Not any rich dude can do it either, there's a selection process and iirc Ferrari reserved the right to buy back the car if the owner ever decides to sell it; Ferrari has final say on who can own the car.

You sure it's not a Champ or Indy car? Motor in it? Once they are used for a season they are worthless. My dad's company had one sitting in the main warehouse.
