What size piping? I've had both the 2.5" and 3" versions on my s14 before... what did you want to know?

I think it's one of the best exhausts available...

Yeah. IMO, it looks very good, and I've only heard good thing about it.

What size piping do you recommend? this is mostly on a daily driver with about 4-5 track events a year. I have a pretty modest taste level in terms of sound.

This isn't the loudest exhaust. The 3" is fine on a stock KA... while it's a tad louder it's not annoying or attention grabbing and actually has a positive hp/torque benefit. the 2.5" isn't worth it unless you know for sure you're never going turbo... plus the piping is very different and resale value is low.

Wow, thanks for the info on the different piping. Are there more bends or something? I would think it would have a similar design, with the exhaust still at an angle.

I'll never say for sure that I won't go turbo....

but seeing how we're in CA, i dunno if I want to bother with the hassle of the laws and everything.

Thanks for the info. If anyone has one on their S14...even S13 DOHC (should sound nearly the same), let me know. I would appreciate it.

i have a 3" hks hi power on my s14 with a stock KA. sounds great, looks sick but the only down side for me is that my car is pretty slammed and the hks exhaust only sits like 2 inches max from the ground. live in san jose if you want a ride.

oh yah and i got pulled over 3 times in the last 2 months for my exhaust being either to low or they claim its to loud because its louder then stock. good thing my motors stock because everytime i got pulled over they ask me to pop my hood. but no tickets just warnings...

65mm = less volume

80mm or bigger = tickets

pussies.. all of you

haha

just go with 3 inch. you'll regret going 2.5

not if the 2.5 inch is cheap enough

If the 2.5 inch sounds noticably quieter in my opinion, and has a similar pipe design (nearly straight through, angled), I would seriously consider it just to avoid police hassle.

anybody know if the HKS with the 3inch piping is louder than the Blitz NURspec?

Depends on if you're NA or Turbo... and then depends if you have a test pipe, dummy cat or resonated test pipe.

3in? I have 3.5 on my na KA with header but i have two resonator. It quiet at idle and okay when cruising, loud if i go over 3k , but can easily make it quiet on the freeway with partial pressure on the gas.

on my s13 SR i have 4in midpipe and axleback 3.5in ( cant complian when it free)
