I was driving fine all day. Went to the gas station to get some gas and left the key at ACC so I could listen to the radio as I fill up with the engine off. Get back in and turn and the battery is too low to start the car. So I call a friend for a jump. I tried it again about 5-10 min later and it starts. So im driving for three blocks and everything is dim, head and dash lights. Then the car starts bogging when I give it any amount of gas. So I pull over and its acting like its going to cut off. So I turn it off and check it out under the hood. Everything seemed OK so i try to start it and nothing. So my friend comes and jumps me and it starts fine. But when I get ready to pull off it starts acting like its going to cut off like before, then it does.

Before my friend jumped me there was a blown EGI fuse under the hood. Not sure what that does. But I replaced it before the jump. Whats going on? New battery, I dont think its the alternater either. But of course I cant be sure.

Help please.

Go have the alternator and the battery tested. Takes like 10 mins.

The problem is the car won't move. I had to leave it on the road and its much too low to be towed....

sounds like alternator. You can get another battery and drive the car for a short distance to get it to somewhere you can work on it. Check the fuses too. I had something like this happen once and it was the alt fuse. I have a few extra if you end up needing one, there like $15 from the dealer....

That sounds right. What I did was have my friend drive behind me with the jumper cables connected so I could get to a spot where they wouldnt ticket me.

Also the EGI fuse was blown, and that has to do with the charge system but I didnt check the actual alternator fuse. Where is it exactly? Im not near my car but Im guessing its on one of the loomed cables enclosed in a small plastic box. Is it an oversized fuse?

Thanks for the input.
