Im in the proccess of buying new wheels for my S14. As of right now I have 17 x 8's all around, dont know the offset. I'm buying for the front 18 x 7.5 +45 and the back 18 x 9 +12. Will there be any issues? Fender rolling or camber adjustments I'll have to do. I'm worried about the rears..thanks!
The rears should be fine. In fact, get all four that size, because it's your fronts that won't fit. They will hit your suspension and frame with that way too high offset. Your car would look like this:

Lol. Best response ever!
He's right though. If you going to stagger your rims those front sizes are all wrong. The +45 offset is freaky high. Infact don't bother with a stagger. It really is more trouble than it's worth when it come to buying new tires and attempting to rotate them afterwards.
18x9 +12 will get you into fender rolling territory on a lowered suspension unless to stretch your tires or go neg. camber.
John Deere ftw!

Haha thanks guys. What if i changed those 18x9's up front and put an 18x10 +30 in the back? Still would be weird?? I really like the staggered look, and the rims I want dont come in two different offsets with the same width and diameter. Thanks!

18x9, +12s all the way around. Staggered wheels look like fshit on an S14 unless you're a 'dRiFtA' or some other bandwagonner.

That actually wouldn't be too bad.
Really though you should consider the negatives of running staggered rims. When you go tire shopping you have to buy rubber in pairs. That doesn't sound like a big deal but a lot of cheaper tire brands won't have the selection of sizes you'll be looking for.
For instance I was shopping for tires in the following sizes 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 in order to maintain stock tire diameter (of 25 inches). Turns out not a lot of tire makers carry cheap rubber in these sizes. I was dying to get the new Azenis but guess what? They dont come in 225/35/18. Either you settle for whats available or you missmatch your tires and wind up with differing tire diameter on your front and rear wheels.
Besides all that you can only now rotate your tires from side to side. If you run neg. camber then you're going to chew through rubber a lot faster.

Thanks!! How much of a lip, in inches, you think that 18 x 9 +12 rim would have? Theres also another set, that's actually cheaper, and the same width but different offsets. The other set is 18x8 +30 and 18x8 +40. Now would that have much of a lip at all with those widths and offsets? I'm really looking for the deeper lip in the back. Thanks

The lip depends on the type of wheel. Have you not looked at the wheels you're buying? Stick to the 18x9 +12 for they will have the most lip from the above choices.

I'm not entirely sure you're understanding the whole concept of offset. One cant say exactly how much lip a 9 +12 inch rim will have because it depnds on the wheels spoke design. Generally speaking if the offset is lower there is more opportunity to add a fat lip.

As for that second set of rims (the 18x8 +30 and 18x8 +40 ones) you're getting back to the "tractor look". I figure your reasoning is that if you put the +40's on the front and the +30's on the back then you'll be getting extra lip in the rear set of rims right? The problem with that is the front rims are now actually pushed in towards your car. That will a) look bad and b) f-ck up the way your car handles. If possible you want to keep the front and rear track width relitively close together.
240's were not designed to have staggered rim setups like 350z's or S2000's so when you are choosing a staggered rim/tire combo you need to do your homework. Just as an example in order for that second set of rims to work you could keep the 18x8 + 30 upfront BUT change the rears to 18x10 + 40. The extra width in the rear rim compensates for the higher offset and gives you that bigger lip that you want.

If you are just cruising around the mall or sitting at Tower Shops, it won't matter. get what you want.
If you push/drive your car, get all 4 the same.
1. it won't understeer as bad
2. you will get a little more respect by the real tuners
3. you can rotate them and make your wallet happier
cool? :bigok:
